First, divided into two: refuting the nature of compounded bases, and refuting the nature of characteristics such as arising. First, divided into four: refuting permanent entities, refuting what should be viewed, refuting faculties and objects, and refuting grasping. First, divided into two: general refutation and specific refutation. First: Thus, the immediately preceding treatises have made reality suitable as a vessel for nectar, so the remaining treatises are intended to begin establishing reality. For now, it is explained that conditioned things are said to be without essence because they possess arising and ceasing. Whatever engages for the sake of a result is not a genuine nature in the world, because the attachment of this prostitute is for the sake of a result, not a nature. All external and internal things do not arise singly, but only as assemblies of various kinds. And since these are mutually cause and effect, everything arises for the sake of a result as it is in itself, so it is not permanent, that is, it does not truly exist by nature. Therefore, only the non-regressing, powerful, and capable Bhagavan taught impermanence and emptiness. Thus, he who has gone and understood the nature of things as they are is called the Tathagata. Other than that, there is no other Tathagata who has understood the reality of things as they are, because they have not truly understood reality through showing reality without inversion. Or, the Bhagavan said that whatever is of the nature of arising is inevitably of the nature of cessation, because aging and death are caused by birth, so the result of birth is destruction. Therefore, everything arises for the sake of the destruction of the result, so it is not permanent. Or, without objects that can be experienced as pleasure, pain, or indifference, there is no experience of the three feelings as results. Therefore, things" } ] ============================================================
