If these three jewels gather, it is not without end because of stopping the cycle of existence; if they do not gather, it is not with end because it cannot stop. Therefore, the Buddha does not acknowledge the cycle of existence as having an end or being without end among the fourteen unrevealed objects, which is, in short, this very reason. As it says in the Root Verses of the Middle Way, "Since all things are empty, what is finite? What is infinite?" Like that, the emptiness of self-nature, which is another cause, does not exist either. Therefore, the wise should strive for the means to exhaust existence in this complete cause and condition for stopping the cycle of existence. If you say that as long as the scriptures remain, there will be virtuous friends and the transmission of their teachings, and therefore one should strive to exhaust existence in future lives, then even though both exist when the scriptures remain, it is difficult for oneself to become a listener. Like this, most people are blinded by ignorance and seized by non-holy, non-virtuous friends. Therefore, they completely cling to them and engage in paths of non-virtuous actions such as killing, so most ordinary beings will certainly go to bad destinies. Because one who abides in the path of non-virtuous actions goes to a good destiny, this is impossible and there is no opportunity. Secondly, even if bad destinies are not a place of joy, good destinies are a place of joy because they are free from harm. Therefore, one should not be weary of it. Just as with bad destinies, one should also be weary of good destinies. Like this, those who commit sins on earth, after dying and experiencing the ripening results of hell and so on, and then being born as humans due to the merit of experiencing other times, can only see the remnants of the ripening results of past sins, leading to incomplete limbs, incomplete senses, ugly appearance, poverty, and other torments and declines. Therefore, in the eyes of the holy ones who see reality as it is, this is like a cremation ground or the land of a cemetery where worldly livestock are slaughtered. Therefore, while dwelling in the intensely burning suffering of decline, not striving to destroy it is utterly foolish. If the holy ones see existence as equal to a place of burning, then why

If asked, why not be weary of this world? The answer is because the world is like a mad elephant drunk on alcohol, its nature is madness. If asked, why is all the world mad? The answer is because it has obtained the characteristics of madness. For example, if the realm of the world is unbalanced, causing the true entry of consciousness to be unable to abide, it is called madness. The various beings abiding in existence also crave many actions that far surpass madness, and speak wildly and nonsensically. The nature of the mind is inherently wavering, not abiding in stillness for even a moment. In such a state, what wise person would say that this is not madness? Therefore, like a place of burning, it is also a state of madness, so the wise should completely abandon existence. Second, there is the exhortation to abandon karma. The reason for abandoning it. And the actual way to abandon it, in three points. The first point is that one should also abandon samsara by blocking all entry of karma. If asked, how does one abandon samsara by exhausting karma? The answer is that the suffering caused by actions such as walking should be reversed from that action, and by abiding and so on, the previous driving force is exhausted, and eventually it will be seen to gradually diminish. Similarly, by cutting off the continuity of all karma, all suffering will also cease. Therefore, those endowed with wisdom should generate the aspiration to attain the state of all karma exhausted, which is nirvana. The second point is, why should karma be abandoned? The answer is because the karmic result of samsara is the cause of destruction. For example, when the colored and formless results that have arisen from beginningless time, and the very first cause of any one of those results appears, one can see that countless causes increase even for just one result, who would not be afraid of this? Therefore, one should constantly be weary of the vast wilderness of samsara, which is a complex of immeasurable causes and extremely difficult to traverse, and strive to find a way to liberate oneself from it. Third, it is divided into general explanation and specific explanation in two parts. The first point is, if the result for which one acts can be certainly achieved, then effort is still worthwhile, but that result is not always certain to be achieved, and even if it is achieved, it will certainly not abide for long, and eventually...
