Then, if it is said that it is because there is perversion? If there is no grasping for perversion or truth itself, then where is there perversion, and where is there no perversion? Because we have already said that there are no agents, actors, and actions here, so grasping does not exist in any way. Therefore, when there is no grasping for perversion or non-perversion as truth, relying on what is there perversion, and relying on what is there no perversion? Therefore, there is no perversion. Furthermore, if someone thinks that there is perversion, then examine whether it is something that has become perverted, or something that has not become perverted, or something that is becoming perverted. It is not reasonable in any case. For something that has become perverted, there cannot be perversion. For something that has not become perverted, there cannot be perversion. For something that is becoming perverted, there cannot be perversion. Where is it possible to have perversion? Please discern it yourself. First, for something that has become perverted, there cannot be perversion, because something that has become perverted is already perverted, so there is no need to be associated with perversion again. For something that has not become perverted, there cannot be perversion either, because this would lead to the fault that even the Buddhas who are free from the sleep of ignorance and whose eyes of wisdom have opened would have perversion. For something that is becoming perverted, there cannot be perversion either, because there is nothing called becoming perverted except for what has become perverted and what has not become perverted. Thus, since there cannot be perversion in any case of what has become perverted, what has not become perverted, and what is becoming perverted, then where is it possible to have perversion now? Please discern it well with an impartial mind. Furthermore, if perversions have not arisen, how can they exist? If perversions have not arisen, where will there be someone with perversion? Why do perversions not arise? Things do not arise from themselves, nor do they arise from others, nor do they arise from both themselves and others. Where will there be someone with perversion? Things do not arise from themselves, etc., has been said before. Therefore,

Since there is no reversal, where would there be one with reversal? Therefore, reversal exists, because there exists something corresponding to it. Saying this is unreasonable. Third, if you admit that the four reversals exist even a little, they cannot be established as reversals. Like this: If self and purity and, permanence and happiness exist, then self and purity and permanence and, happiness are not reversals. If you establish those self and purity and permanence and happiness as reversals, are those existent or nonexistent? If those exist, then those self and so on are not reversals, because they exist, just like selflessness and so on. If self and purity and, permanence and happiness do not exist, then selflessness, impurity, impermanence, and, suffering do not exist either. If the impossible things, self and purity and permanence and happiness, do not exist, then those four, selflessness and so on, are also not reversals, because if there is no object to be negated, there is no negation. If selflessness and so on do not exist, then how would those not become reversals like self and so on? Therefore, those who desire liberation should abandon all eight of those reversals. Fourth, the analysis of reversals as explained is the cause of abandoning ignorance and so on, therefore it is very meaningful. Like this: Thus, when reversals cease, ignorance will cease. When ignorance ceases, actions and so on will cease. When the yogi, with the reasoning as explained, does not perceive reversals, then thus, when reversals cease, ignorance, which is their cause, will also cease. When ignorance ceases, actions and so on, which are the cause of ignorance, up to the law of old age and death, will also cease, because ignorance is the cause of all the collections of afflictions and the suffering of birth and so on. For example, just as all the material senses that are the cause of the body's senses will cease when the body's senses cease. Second, refuting the abandonment of afflictions through antidotes. Here it is said, if ignorance ceases because reversals cease, then it is reasonable.
