If fire and firewood are other, whatever is other is not dependent on it, like a vase and cloth. Therefore, fire will not arise from firewood, which is the cause of burning, because it is not dependent on it. If fire, which is the cause of burning, is dependent on a cause, then it will die without firewood. When the cause of burning is not dependent on a cause, it will always burn because there is no condition for death. If it always burns, then taking firewood and starting a fire become meaningless in order not to die. If fire burns even without firewood, then even without action, fire will become the agent. Therefore, fire should not be other than firewood. Second, if someone thinks like this: Thinking that burning is firewood, If fire is different from wood, It should also arise without wood. To this refutation, if someone thinks like this: fire and firewood are other, but there is no fire without wood, because the meaning of burning is the firewood that fire is burning. If you think like that, it is also unreasonable, because: When is that just this? Who burns the firewood with fire? When the meaning of burning, that which is burning, is just firewood, then what does fire use to burn the firewood? Because what is burning is firewood, and no other fire is seen. Third, Because of otherness, they do not meet, if there is no meeting, It will not burn, if it does not burn, it will not die, If it does not die, it will also abide, possessing its own characteristics. If fire and firewood are separate others, because they are others, they will not meet like light and darkness. If there is no meeting, fire will not burn firewood, just as the fire in the land of the kalpa will not burn the firewood in front of it. If it does not burn, it will not die because there is no firewood, because existence does not depend on firewood. If it does not die, then fire will always exist and have its own characteristic of burning, because there is no condition for death. If it is unreasonable to say that they do not meet because they are others, because men and women are others.

If it is thought that meeting, fire and firewood also change in the same way, then, just as a woman meets a man, and a man also meets a woman. If fire is other than wood, it can meet with wood. Just as men and women are mutually independent others, so a woman meets a man, and a man also meets a woman, if fire is an independent other from wood, then fire can also meet with wood, but if that is the case, it is not possible. Like this: If fire and wood, one eliminates the other, even if fire is other than wood, it depends on whether one wants to meet with wood. If fire and wood eliminate each other, that is, they are not related to the agent, and are mutually independent, like women and men, even if fire is other than wood, fire depends on whether one wants to meet with wood, then, wood that does not depend on fire or fire that does not depend on wood, such a thing is impossible. Therefore, it is meaningless to use women and men as examples, because if one should use the meeting of mutually dependent others as an example, there is no such example. Second, refuting the establishment by mutual dependence: If it is thought that fire and firewood are established by their own nature, because they are mutually dependent, the non-existent son and daughter of a barren woman are not seen as mutually dependent, then, if wood depends on fire, if fire depends on wood, what is it that depends on to become fire and wood, what is established first? If it is thought that because firewood burns it is called fire, it is established as fire depending on wood, and because fire burns it is called firewood, it is established as wood depending on fire, then, at that time, what is it that depends on to become fire and wood, which of the two is established first? If it is thought that because it depends on firewood to become fire, firewood is established first, that is unreasonable, because wood that does not depend on fire and is not combustible is not firewood, and roots and so on also become firewood. If fire is first and firewood is established later, that is also unreasonable, because fire without firewood becomes without cause, and later needs dependence
