Homage to all the Buddhas of the ten directions and their retinues, with a mind of complete purity. I will clearly explain the meaning of the very profound Tathāgatagarbha, so listen, impartial and knowledgeable ones. It is not reasonable to say that sentient beings possess the qualities of the Buddha, such as the powers, as shown by \"Whoever realizes that all beings are completely pacified,\" etc., because that text only shows that sentient beings have a general characteristic of the Buddhadhātu, a slight entry of the nature of luminosity, and that it is seen from the first bhūmi. It is also not shown by \"Because there is no differentiated dharma,\" because it also refers to the fact that even in the state of ordinary beings, there is a slight luminosity of the dharmatā of the qualities of the Buddha, such as the powers, both self and other. As it is said, in its commentary: \"In that, the qualities of the stainless Buddha, in one, even in the state of ordinary beings who are completely afflicted, there is a dharmatā without differentiation, without difference between before and after, so this state is inconceivable,\" it is said. And, \"Even in the places where the Tathāgata is not, the Buddha sees his own dharmatā with his Buddha-eye.\" And, \"Sentient beings' qualities are like a husk of afflictions.\" And, \"The Buddha himself is a treasure of stainless qualities, seeing that all sentient beings are without difference.\" And, \"Shariputra, the realm of sentient beings is also other, and the Dharmakāya is also not other, the realm of sentient beings itself is the Dharmakāya, the Dharmakāya itself is the realm of sentient beings, this is non-duality in meaning, only a difference in letters,\" etc., also show that sentient beings have a general characteristic of the Dharmakāya of the Buddha, a slight luminosity of their own nature, but do not show that they possess their own characteristics, such as the qualities of the powers. In short, in the uncontaminated realm, there are four excellent distinctions in meaning, such as the Dharmakāya. And, \"The unsurpassed dharma is not empty,\" and, \"Because it possesses the nature of qualities,\" etc., are indicators of a state of utter purity." } ] ============================================================
