Explanation of Chapter Thirteen of "Secret Commentary: Lamp Illuminating the Darkness of the Mind." Explanation of Chapter Thirteen of "Secret Commentary: Lamp Illuminating the Darkness of the Mind." In order for yogis who study the two stages to please the beings to be tamed, and also to show that the collection of activities should be practiced, therefore, Chapter Thirteen is explained, divided into two: The general meaning is that this chapter inwardly shows the collection of activities that are extremely involved, that is, the beginning of this chapter shows the collection of recitations, the middle shows the collection of activities, and the end shows the deity yoga related to the collection of activities. The meaning of the branches is two: to pray with the praise of the retinue as a preliminary, and to explain the text of the chapter in detail. The first part is divided into three: connecting the context with the words of the compiler, that is, after explaining Chapter Twelve, connecting by saying "explained." Where was it explained? In the vajra song of praying for the collection of activities, which will appear below. Who spoke it? The Blessed One, such as Akshobhya, that is, all the Five Tathagatas, and the wise Bodhisattvas such as Kshitigarbha, that is, those who have their own mudras. Among them, the characteristics of the Tathagatas are: because they hold the non-dual wisdom, they are the holders of the supreme wisdom vajra. The characteristics of the Bodhisattvas are: peacefulness, etc., are the true source of the meaning needed by all sentient beings, that is, those who are diligent in practice. What did they do? After prostrating, they offered outer and inner offerings. To whom? Because they reside in the hearts of all the Tathagatas, they are the capable ones. Because they have the power to bestow worldly and transcendental achievements, they are the possessors of vajra of all meanings. Because they follow the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, they are the great teachers. Because they fully know the two truths, they are those who know the very vows, that is, the great Vajradhara. The teaching of praise is divided into three: praising the six branches of approach, that is, "Emaho (藏文)", which means wonderful! Buddha is the union of the two truths, inseparable. The method is the method to obtain it, the combination of the six branches such as summarizing each.

The four vajras of the nature of the four emptinesses are good because they are not to be transgressed. Praising the practice of the indivisible union of the two truths: Enlightenment is the six unions. Its principle is the union of the two truths without distinction. It itself is excellent and supreme, because it is the collection of the meaning of the speech of all the Tathagatas. Furthermore, Dharma is the two truths. Its principle is the union of the two into one. Peace is freedom from elaboration. The concise praise is: Mantras are the Tathagatas, etc. Its principle is the collection of various methods for attaining enlightenment, etc., because teaching it is indestructible and incomprehensible to the Shravakas, etc. From the very beginning, the aggregates of unoriginated dharmas, etc., attain enlightenment by relying on special methods, and their very nature is an excellent characteristic, and it is non-conceptual, that is, free from examining the ultimate truth, and even if it is not examined, it is correct, that is, from the true dharmas that are merely pleasing, the body of the indivisible wisdom union of the six-limbed union arises, and the Bhagavan has repeatedly explained and taught it, which is very wonderful! Having thus pleased the Bhagavan with praise, it is taught to pray for the desired meaning to appear: Pray for explanation, it is said. Who asks? The Bhagavan. What is asked for? The mandala of the three bodies without division, that is, the mandala of the great Vajradhara, the three bodies without distinction, is asked to be explained. What is it itself? Collecting all the pleasing mantras, Vajra recitation is great wisdom. That is, all the mantras arising from Āli Kāli (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思), where all are collected and accumulated, the vajra recitation of the nature of the three entrances, abidings, and risings, which are inseparable from the three syllables. It itself is great wisdom because it attains unsurpassed wisdom. The characteristic of Vajra recitation is: Buddhahood wisdom will be attained, By meditating on the three indivisible vajras. That is, whatever practitioner meditates on the three indivisible vajras, with what power and fearlessness, etc., attains the wisdom of the Buddha.
