Tī! Like a Jambudvīpa golden mountain is your form, The splendor of marks and signs blazes like a hundred suns, Subduing the pride of all worthy of worship in the world, To the Bhagavan, the god of gods, I pay homage! Completely dispelling all the sicknesses of afflictions of beings, A treasure of the nectar of the sacred Dharma, With a curtain of exposition and practice well-held, To those who give impartially, I pay homage! Especially increasing love for those who harm, With anger, gentle as cotton in treating the harsh, With hatred, cooling like camphor in treating suffering, May the lord of speech, the all-embracing one, always protect! The king of swans, the compassion of the Victorious Ones, Again and again enters the minds of beings like a lake, Hearing becomes a spring of rest, I sing this song of well-spoken melody! Obtained through the trade of vast merit, A precious vessel worthy of a nectar-filled chamber, The sole basis for a collection of countless qualities, Do not pour in impure faults and discard it! Like a flash of lightning in the night, briefly appearing, Among the many beings tormented by intense suffering, Having once obtained a body endowed with leisure and fortune, How could it be right to waste it meaninglessly? It is a great ship for crossing the ocean of samsara, If split by an axe of non-virtue, then afterwards, No matter how much effort is made, it will not be found, Now is the time to seek benefit! Without certainty of not dying in the very next moment, Yet always preparing to stay, At the edge of the bed, tormented by endless regret, Contemplate impermanence and practice the sacred Dharma! Even if eloquent, with strong armies, many friends, great intelligence, Radiant, surpassing the sun, possessing abundant wealth, At the time of death, there is no benefit other than Dharma, Therefore, abandon worldly affairs like spitting out ashes! Even if rich with the wealth of ripened virtue, If you do not use it well while you have power now, Then due to miserliness, you will always fall into the pit of bad migrations, Should you not give away what you have accumulated in charity? Most enjoyments are the cause of pain for body and mind, Even if obtained with effort, the needs only increase, Accumulating is endless, losing is unbearable, Abandon that basis of a heap of suffering! Skilled at leading to evil through deceptive means, Friends and relatives are close in times of happiness, But in decline, they will surely rise up as enemies, Therefore, completely sever the bonds of kinship! When youth and vigor are at their peak, If dominated solely by the illusions of this life, How will you be able to practice austerities when old? Now is the time to reduce complacency!
