Collection of Teachings by Omniscient Pema Karpo PK265, titled 'The Heart Essence of the Dakinis: Instructions on the Practice and Accomplishment of the Three Vajras Arising from Oddiyana'. 20-175 The Heart Essence of the Dakinis: Instructions on the Practice and Accomplishment of the Three Vajras Arising from Oddiyana. Homage to the Lotus Feet of the Supreme Guru! This is the source of all supreme and common accomplishments, the single path traversed by all Buddhas of the three times, the footsteps of the great accomplished masters, lords of yoga, and the quintessential instruction that leads individuals of sharp faculties to the state of the Great Vajradhara in one lifetime. Now, I will explain the practice and accomplishment of the Three Vajras. To inspire faith and establish the authenticity of the lineage, there are two parts: the history of the lineage and the quintessential instructions arising from that lineage. The former is explained elsewhere. The latter is divided into the path of maturation (initiation) and the path of liberation. The former consists of the four initiations. The latter is divided into preliminary practices and the main practice. The preliminary practices are further divided into five parts: taking refuge and generating bodhicitta to make oneself a suitable vessel, the Vajrasattva practice to purify negativities and obscurations, 20-176 Guru Yoga to invoke blessings, offering the mandala to complete the accumulations, and demonstrating the three isolations to tame body, speech, and mind. The main practice is divided into three parts: traversing the path of worldly and transworldly realms based on practice, recitation, and great practice; removing obstacles to meditation to ensure that this path is unobstructed; and demonstrating how to attain the ultimate result after removing obstacles. The first part is further divided into three parts: the branch of body Vajra practice to purify the body's channels, the branch of speech Vajra practice to purify the speech's winds, and the branch of mind Vajra great practice to purify the mind's bindus. The first part is further divided into: hand seals, their function, and the resulting meditation. The first part is further divided into: conducive conditions, the time of meditation, and how to meditate. The first is: a qualified guru, a disciple suitable as a vessel, and the complete assembly of resources free from faults, completely abandoning the meditation of conceptual thoughts on mandalas, etc., and entering the path of actually practicing the accomplishment of the Great Seal. What is the hand seal? It is the hand seal. Thinking --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Concentration (Tibetan: གཏན།), Prana exertion (Tibetan: སྲོག་རྩོལ།), Holding (Tibetan: འཛིན་པ།), Recollection (Tibetan: རྗེས་དྲན།), Samadhi (Tibetan: ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་ནོ།). These are also, each the cause of gathering. The fruit of meditation is the cause of prana exertion; the fruit of holding is the cause of recollection; the fruit of samadhi. Because there is no fruit without a cause, the cause is mainly explained, and the fruit is incidental, summarized as the Vajra Samaya. The place of practice should be a country ruled by a Dharma king, and a secluded and auspicious place. In particular, the place for practicing yoga with signs should be a house that avoids dampness, faces south, is pleasing, and the door should have three curved barriers, so that no light can penetrate in the darkness. Second, the time of practice should be in accordance with the order of collection, when the breath flows from the right side. Third, how to practice, the upper lotus posture binds the upper breath, the lower lotus posture binds the lower breath, and the middle lotus posture binds the middle breath, these three. First, there are two types of yoga: night yoga and day yoga. First, there are three types: body binding, eye gazing, and mind abiding. First is, 'The essence of seventy-two thousand channels,' these seventy-two thousand refer to the number of channels in the Vajra body. Its essence refers to the breath that flows in these channels, as well as the bindu that depends on the breath, and the consciousness that relies on the bindu. 'In the sky, the stars are firmly bound,' here the sky refers to the darkness, and the day yoga refers to the clear sky without clouds. The stars refer to the nine orifices, 'firmly bound' refers to the essence mentioned earlier flowing out from these orifices, bound by the attachment from above. Why bind? Because sixty-three afflictions arise from leakage, which generates karma, and the maturation of karma generates various manifestations of the three realms, and the habits determined by the manifestations cause us to revolve in samsara. Binding the actions can make body, speech, and mind unmoving, abiding in stability, at this time, the thoughts of manifestation naturally subside, and in the empty space of tranquility, the signs of luminosity appear. Moreover, when the gross body is bound, it is bound with a 'snap' sound, binding the body can make the extremely subtle mind also bound, so first show the key to the body: the left foot is below, and the right foot is above. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
