Collection of Instructions by Omniscient Pema Karpo PK230: 'The Mirror of Miracles, Clarifying the Dö' 'The Mirror of Miracles, Clarifying the Dö' Construction of the Dö 'The Mirror of Miracles, Clarifying the Dö' For those who enter the illusory world, In the mandala of great illusion, Those skilled in offering illusory offerings, The illusionists are worthy of reverence. Here, there are two parts: the construction of the Dö and the practice. The first part includes: essence, definition, classification, blessing, and dedication. First, the appearance of various forms, yet their nature is unestablished, is emptiness, and these two are inseparable. Second, when this emptiness is made into a great ransom offering, it is called 'Dö'. Also, shaping various forms from dough is called 'Ya', and weaving colored threads into patterns is called 'Ya Tag'. Furthermore, the Great Master Padmasambhava said that 'Dö' also means to dispel. For a yogi, 'Dö' dispels decline; for a patron, 'Dö' dispels attachment, decay, and fear; for an enemy, 'Dö' is a curse cast by a sorcerer, which the practitioner dispels with skillful means, hence it is called 'Dö'. Third, there are male Dö and female Dö. Each is divided into general Dö and specific Dö. There are three hundred and sixty specific Dö, and two general Dö: Mahāśāntiṃ and Sarva Rūpa. The former has three aspects: outer, inner, and secret. The outer is further divided into outer and inner. Here, it refers to the worldly male Dö, among which is the great Dö of Glorious Wisdom Protector, which accomplishes all activities. As it is said: 'On the form of Mount Meru, arrange various images, and seal them with mudras of purposeful action, then one will be victorious in all great battles.' Therefore, it can be used to avert wars, etc. Also, in the form of a wish-fulfilling tree, relying on an Ashoka or Vidraka tree, with skillful means, one can make the region prosperous and attain a state of happiness. Thus, the support Dö and others are explained. In general, there are pacifying Dö, support Dö, offering Dö, fulfillment Dö, worldly Dö, war-averting Dö, calamity-averting Dö, Raksha enemy Dö, and so on. One can also combine all the functions of the Dö into one Dö. Fourth, there are two parts: blessing and dedication. First, the basis of the Dö, the great mandala, is visualized as a joyful cloud of offerings, and blessed. The deities are invited, requested to descend, abide, merge into non-duality, empowered, and offered to. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That which is called 'Praise' is knowing the wisdom in the mandala. In the context of a practice mandala or a support mandala, the base of the mandala is like a celestial wheel, adorned with a thousand spokes and rims, equal to the realm of the world. Upon it, the 'Yasta' (a kind of decoration) is spread like a collection of stars, adorning the sky; the ground is piled thickly like a forest of plants and trees; the space in between is adorned with clouds and rainbows, blessed and beautiful. Each one possesses form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, blessed with inexhaustible desirable enjoyments, known as offerings to the mandala. This is called 'Knowing'. Therefore, regarding the arrogant ones as sisters, it is also called the 'Essence of the General Offering Mandala'. Furthermore, if due to the slackening of one's own vows, the body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities of the arrogant ones become confused, then offering a king's effigy as the body, arrows as speech, the sky as mind, silk and victory banners as qualities, eye medicine and hunting tools as activities, as objects of compensation to make up for the deficiencies, is called the 'Compensation Mandala'. Focusing on the guests of karmic debt, blessing the mandala 'Yasta' as Mount Meru and the twelve continents, and as an inexhaustible treasure of desirable enjoyments. If this is given to me, repaying the kindness of others and eliminating samsara, it is called the 'Mandala for Sending Messengers to Repay Karmic Debt'. Visualizing the mandala 'Yasta' as the forms of patrons and gods and demons, if this is given away as a substitute for oneself or others, it is called the 'Mandala for Increasing Life and Merit'. Blessing all the objects of the 'Yasta' as the armies and forces of the gods and demons of existence, and sending them to avert harm to oneself or others, it is called the 'Black Side Averting Mandala' or the 'Protector's Victory Averting Mandala'. Furthermore, arranging the mandala according to tradition, blessing it as a female lineage, and giving it to a male lineage, it is called the 'Worldly Male Escape Averting'. Blessing it as a male lineage and giving it as dowry to a female lineage, it is called the 'Worldly Female Escape Averting'. In particular, if specifically targeting the evil spirit 'Tuba', it is done according to the general ritual. If it is given only to that, it is a common mandala, given individually; if the object is not specifically designated, it is a separate mandala, giving the designated to the common. Furthermore, in the arrangement of the mandala, if the male is the main focus, it is a 'Male Mandala'; if the female is the main focus, it is a 'Female Mandala'. Thus, making appearances as fierce projectiles is called 'Zor'. Also, like fiercely throwing, it is also called 'Yangzor'. The base is a fierce 'Drupkhung' (a kind of container), the object is 'Zor', containing diseases, poisons, and weapons. Regarding the arrogant ones as gods of curses, blessing them to separate the body and mind of the enemy. After calculating and throwing and averting, it is the 'Raksha Enemy Mandala'.
