Primarily for one's own benefit to practice. The Wrathful Amitayus Mandala Ritual, Arranged in an Easy-to-Follow Sequence for Certainly Bestowing the Empowerment of Awareness-Holder of Longevity. Through practice, temporarily granting benefits like the sun and moon, ultimately bestowing the state of a Buddha. I prostrate to Amitayus and compose a mirror to see his power. Here, wishing to contemplate the secret practice of Amitayus, the mandala of the wrathful deity, divided into three: primarily for one's own benefit to practice, primarily for the benefit of others to accomplish, and daily practice. First, to auspiciously and perfectly perform the empowerment, gather all the necessary items, and on a comfortable cushion, with the thought of accomplishing the state of immortality for the sake of all sentient beings, practice. 16-443 I take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha until enlightenment. To accomplish both my own and others' benefit, I generate the supreme Bodhicitta. Recite the refuge and bodhicitta three times. Then, Among those who protect beings, Especially before you, the hero, Who destroys the powerful Lord of Death, Having seen you, I invite you with faith. Without moving from the Dharmakaya's essence, The inexhaustible skill of great compassion, I request you to come and play manifestly, In the mandala of immeasurable life. Visualize inviting the mandala that is about to be revealed in the space in front. I prostrate to the lotus feet of the Lord of the Wheel and his retinue. I confess all misdeeds, I rejoice in all virtues, I offer this body of mine with faith, With compassion, look upon me from afar, May all wishes be fulfilled, May I attain supreme enlightenment. (Tibetan: བཛྲ་མུ,Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र मु,Sanskrit Romanization: vajra mu, Literal Chinese meaning: Diamond Mu) Return to the state of self-nature. Thus say. Offer with alcohol, tea, cloves, torma, and water. Bless by reciting three times (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit Devanagari: ,Sanskrit Romanization: om ah hum, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum). Recite (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨ་ཀཱ་རོ་,Sanskrit Devanagari: ,Sanskrit Romanization: om akaro, Literal Chinese meaning: Om A Ka Ro) etc., dedicate to and give to the obstacles. All the obstacle assemblies dwelling on the mandala's ground, listen to my command! I am the glorious Vajradhara, do not transgress my command! Obstacle assemblies, depart quickly! If you do not leave and remain, 16-444 The blazing wisdom vajra will burn, Heads will shatter into a hundred pieces, Bodies will become emptiness, Complete destruction is without doubt! Oṃ vajra krodha haya grīva hūṃ phaṭ (Tibetan). Thus dispel. At the heart, from hrīḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari: hrīḥ, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: seed syllable) a flame blazes, burning the ripened body to emptiness. Oṃ svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'haṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: oṃ svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'ham, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'ham, Literal meaning: Oṃ, purity of nature, all dharmas are pure in nature, I am). This is the ultimate protection. In the center of the dark purplish-black moon mandala, from paṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: paṃ, Romanized Sanskrit: paṃ, Literal meaning: seed syllable) arises an eight-petaled lotus, and from maṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: maṃ, Romanized Sanskrit: maṃ, Literal meaning: seed syllable) arises a sun disc seat. From the red seed syllable hrīḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari: hrīḥ, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: seed syllable), flames blaze like the fire of the wisdom kalpa, burning all the malicious ones completely. The supreme horse born from hrīḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari: hrīḥ, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: seed syllable) has one face and two arms, a red body, and a green horse head above. It roars fiercely, subduing the three realms. The right hand holds a white skull club, destroying all demons and spirits. The left hand makes a threatening gesture, burning like fire, incinerating all harm-doers. The right leg is bent, the left leg is extended, suppressing the four maras. The three eyes glare, the brow is furrowed in anger, the tongue is curled, and fangs flash like sparks. It has yellow hair, wears a skull crown, and is adorned with a hundred and fifty bleeding heads. It wears a tiger skin loincloth and is adorned with the eight great nāgas. It assumes the terrifying form of Yama, possessing an indestructible vajra body. Within its vast belly are e yaṃ raṃ vaṃ laṃ suṃ bhrūṃ (Tibetan). Transformed into ghee lamps, dharma origin, wind, fire, water, earth, Mount Sumeru, and a palace, square with four doors and stables, the walls are blue, yellow, white, green, and red, adorned with silk, canopies, and nets, decorated with eastern arrow towers. The central hall is topped with a jewel, surrounded by lotuses, vajras, and flames. The inner courtyard is blue in the east, yellow in the south, white in the west, green in the north, and red in the center. In the center is an eight-petaled lotus, with Amitāyus (Tshe dpag med) in the center, Vajra Amitāyus in the east, Ratna Amitāyus in the south, Vairocana Amitāyus in the west, and Karma Amitāyus in the north. All five main deities are lotus-red in color, slightly wrathful yet smiling, adorned with various jewels, holding skull cups filled with nectar, and seated in vajra posture. In their laps are five great consorts, all sixteen years old, with full figures, gentle and with protruding breasts, holding lotuses, vajras, jewels, dharma wheels, and various vajras. The right hands hold their respective attributes, and the left hands hold skull cups filled with nectar, embracing their consorts, bodies intertwined, with the union of skillful means and wisdom, generating uncontaminated great bliss. At the four corners are placed four nectar vases, containing the inner deity's robes. In the east is Fire Vajra Wrathful One, in the south is Rakshasa Jewel Wrathful One, in the west is Wind... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
