It is said that disputes can be pacified by observing the seven Dharmas that pacify disputes, and that disputes do not allow both sides to win. In the 'Sutra Requested by the Old Woman,' it says, 'Non-contention is the most excellent of the Dharmas of a Bhikshu.' Atisha said, 'Wherever there is contention, one should flee a hundred yojanas away.' Offering things like this, do not think of it as using darkness to illuminate a lamp. These are all well-spoken words, as it is said in the scriptures, 'If a noble one speaks truthfully, it is good.' I originally wanted to come before you in person to offer prostrations, but I was unable to do so due to physical discomfort. From a young age, I have been dull-witted by nature, and my later learning has also been insufficient. The letter and poems I have written may not be beautiful enough to please you. But please examine the matter carefully and give me a reply. This image symbolizes that the compassionate gaze of Avalokiteśvara never changes, representing the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, offering precious golden Buddha statues, pure white khatas, and robes of various colors to the Three Jewels. In the Fire Pig year (Tibetan calendar), on the eighth day of the twelfth month of melting butter, this letter was offered from Gonsar Monastery. It seems that you believe that no matter what harm others cause, it is permissible as long as one does not retaliate. This is permissible for someone who is alone, but you have become the protector of the masses, so it is not permissible to do so. I have never argued with anyone, whether in U-Tsang or Lho Kong. I have no attachment or hatred towards anyone, and I have always tried to help others. Others may not approve because it is now the degenerate age. This is precisely the model of the Khampa people practicing patience. Sometimes there will be one or two quarrels, but I do not care. This depends entirely on my own actions. I have no conflict with any schools such as Sakya, Gelug, Nyingma, but there is some discord with Je Karma and Khenpo. They have never said that they do not approve of my actions. I think they may be displeased that I did not go to see them. Regarding seeing them, if you want the Dharma, you must rely on a virtuous spiritual friend. Otherwise, it is meaningless no matter what Dharma you seek. Like Sakya Pandita, who translated the Dharma into the snowy land of Tibet, whether he stays in Tibet depends on himself, so one should go to see him. Otherwise, it is meaningless. Even if the original source of the lineage was like that, one should go to see him, but later we turned to follow the tradition of Phagmo Drupa, so there is no need. For someone who understands the Dharma, even if they only hear one verse, they can find the correct way to rely on it. Otherwise, one may be reborn as a dog a hundred times, and may even be reborn as a carnivore. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thus it is said, the reason for not liking to seek a Lama is like this. The cause of endless disputes lies in this, just like covering up inability with words. You (referring to the other person) have become an elderly Kalyanamitra (spiritual friend), unable to bear it in your heart, and have bestowed teachings. I offer the pure and upright parts of it. These can all be taken as evidence. If my behavior is improper, please observe how those who are of different sects from him (referring to the Lama) have faith and respect for me. In order to widely propagate the Dharma, for each printed scripture, Dharma King Sonam Gyaltsen contributed silver coins. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
