Q: For what purpose is the practice of Samantabhadra's conduct performed? A: It is for the purpose of practicing all that is good and excellent. Q: What is secret conduct? A: It is to know that all appearances of attributing fear of benefit and harm are one's own mind, to abandon the object of clinging to reality outwardly, and to let the bliss of emptiness naturally arise by abandoning the clinging to reality with the power of emptiness. Why? It is to practice secretly in order to protect and increase the vows and commitments without diminishing them. Q: What is gathering conduct? A: It is the conduct of the wise one's commitments. That is, the yoga in which all nature, demeanor, and actions appear as the power of pureness alone, and all good and bad circumstances are taken onto the path without being abandoned. Why? Because in this way, appearance is suppressed with power, and because it can be taken onto the path, it is practiced in the midst of many. Q: What is the conduct of complete victory over the directions? A: It is the abandonment that is free from impurities, and the realization that is the manifestation of suchness, possessing both without duality, so that all dharmas are spontaneously perfected, and thus manifest enlightenment. Why? It is called the conduct of complete victory over the directions because one should completely overcome the unfavorable directions of inner and outer, and practice all dharmas freely. Thus it is said: 'The glorious source of qualities, निश्चितं निश्चितं निश्चितं (Tibetan: ངེས་པར་ངེས་པར་ངེས་པར།,Sanskrit Devanagari: निश्चितं निश्चितं निश्चितं,Sanskrit Romanization: niścitaṃ niścitaṃ niścitaṃ,Chinese literal meaning: Certainly, certainly, certainly) certainly overcomes all hosts of demons, and is the supreme city.' Therefore, all the teachings of the Buddhas are vast and profound, benefiting and bringing happiness to all beings. Otherwise, those without wisdom will toil in vain, and therefore, they should be guided according to their corresponding capacities. The meaning of the Sutras and Tantras should be explained truthfully, without error, and guided by the pure Dharma of the Buddhas alone. Explaining with an undistracted mind, in accordance with the path to liberation, one should respectfully accept it like a righteous person. Abandon the behavior of the twice-born king wandering at night with the empty dot. Just as images appear in clear water crystals, and many grasp them as supreme, in this life, there are profound and vast excellent teachings that directly bestow Buddhahood, but children revere the minor doctrines of external factions. Even some scholars who hold the scriptures and realizations of the Buddha's teachings, and who possess clear discriminating wisdom, do not explain the meaning of the scriptures straightforwardly, but rather in a distorted way. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, even the teachings that guide the right path are abandoned. In distinguishing between Dharma and non-Dharma, Those who boast of being unmatched scholars and accomplished ones, Their explanations have also become stale. Those practitioners who uphold the ways of explanation and practice, Mostly abandon listening, thinking, and meditation, And only pursue the river of desires, So that all places are filled with this phenomenon. Some, in order to cater to the actions of the lama, Fabricate beautiful works called 'teachings', As a means of enticing ordinary people, This phenomenon also prevails in this place. In this land, those who claim to hold both religious and political power, Foolishly elevate deceivers and the mentally deranged, Calling them wise and virtuous, which is ridiculous. May that mandala of scripture and realization, which fully flourishes, the Sugata's words that overcome demonic influences, And that which ascends to the peak of the rising sun of explanation and practice, burning all forests of evil views. May that which causes the lotus of misguided heretics to wither, and causes the auspicious lotus of the fortunate to bloom, Come well into the vast heavenly path of the world, may it always flourish! This was written at the request of the inner yogi, the monk Sangye Gyatso, who has attained certainty of mind, by the Shakya monk, the Dharma speaker Ngawang Norbu, at the great place of glorious Khechara. In order to widely spread the Dharma, For each scripture printed, The benefactor is Chogyal Sonam Gyaltsen. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
