Collection of Instructions by Omniscient Pema Karpo PK110: Explanation of the Secret Treasury, Called 'Essence of Analysis' Explanation of the Secret Treasury, Called 'Essence of Analysis' A Summary of the Path's Certainty Explanation of the Secret Treasury, Called 'Essence of Analysis' Explanation of the Co-emergent Secret Treasury, Called 'Essence of Analysis'. Homage to the Protector, Omniscient Glorious Ngakwang Chökyi Gyalpo! The vajra realm of the Victorious One's body, both with and without objects, is completely unobstructed. The vajra of speech enables beings to understand the Dharma in their own languages. The vajra of the Vajra Holder's heart, the entirety of mind's nature, abides on the ground. Like a stainless jewel, it holds the appearance of things; homage to that wisdom vajra! To dispel the unbearable sufferings of sentient beings, and to attain the great bliss of Buddhahood, I will here clearly explain what is hidden in the scriptures, this is a compilation of everything. Here, in order to make the hidden truth of the collections understandable even to children, I will explain this instruction manual like a lamp. It has three parts: A Summary of the Path's Certainty, A Detailed Explanation of the Certainty, and A Summary of the Ultimate Meaning. The first of these: The teacher, the wise one on the Dharma throne of the Tathagata, teaches the three vehicles from one unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment to sentient beings with different inclinations, thoughts and interests, so that they may enter the various aspects of the Dharma. Some say this: The Sugata teaches the Great Vehicle to some sentient beings, the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle to some, and the Hearer Vehicle to some. If that were the case, then the Tathagata would become: impure towards sentient beings, unequal in mind, overly attached, possessing weak compassion, falling into error through various concepts, and distorting the Dharma. Therefore, whatever Dharma the Tathagatas teach, that Dharma itself is inclined towards the Great Vehicle, flows into the Great Vehicle, abides in the Great Vehicle, enters for the sake of accomplishing the wisdom of omniscience, and for the sake of attaining omniscience; therefore, there is no explanation of different vehicles. Therefore, it is necessary to ascertain and realize that Dharma, the vajra... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, let's begin with a verse: Homage to glorious Vajrayogini! In all activities—walking, standing, sleeping, and sitting—do not be distracted by appearances, but observe the Sahajajnana (俱生智, jù shēng zhì, innate wisdom). (End of verse) The Essence: Establishing the Basis of Suchness. Secondly, the essence of the extensive explanation has three aspects: establishing the basis of Suchness, the essence of the path that severs elaborations, and the essence of the result of manifestation. Firstly, establishing the basis of Suchness: Beginning with 'Homage to glorious Vajrayogini,' this is initiating the homage by preceding it with a truthful declaration of qualities. Then, the Bhagavan said, 'Even through billions of kalpas, without it, accomplishment will not occur.' In the Tantra of the Questions of the Four Goddesses, it says, 'The eighty-four thousand aggregates of the Great Sage's teachings, if one does not know their Suchness, all of them are without fruit.' Therefore, it is said that without knowing that Suchness, one will not attain enlightenment. Thus, to ascertain that Suchness, it is through the certainty of the meaning of Sahajajnana (俱生智, sahadjajnana, lhan cig skyes pa, innate wisdom). How is that ascertained? It is said: That which is free from all extremes such as existence and non-existence, being and non-being, one and not one, permanent and impermanent, samsara and nirvana, form and formlessness, sound and soundlessness, momentary and non-momentary, attachment and non-attachment, hatred and non-hatred, delusion and non-delusion, and so forth, is the non-abiding nirvana of the Buddhas, the wisdom of selflessness, the Suchness of the Victorious Ones. Whose Suchness is it? It is the Suchness of that which is truly real. Why is it truly real? Because it is not deceptive. What is not deceptive? It is the samadhi that is characterized by the nature of ultimate reality. It is also characterized by the aspect of non-duality of the two truths: all phenomena are aggregates, elements, and sources; they are going, moving, and equal; they are the nature of being stainless; they are separated from body, speech, and mind; they are not non-existent, not moving, not non-moving, not far, not near, not empty, not non-empty, not the Middle Way. This is the ultimate truth. Therefore, it is supremely profound, difficult to enter, unborn, and unceasing; it is conditioned by relative truth. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
