Collected Teachings of Omniscient Pema Karpo PK100: The Practice of Green Tara Called 'The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel of All Desires' This is 'The Practice of Green Tara Called 'The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel of All Desires'. By remembering the names of beings, Constantly liberating in the realms of the world, The assembly of Victors proclaimed as Tara, May she grant me well-being from beginning to end! Here, the practitioner should rise early, bathe, and maintain cleanliness. In a pleasing place, sprinkle fragrant water, spread beautiful flowers, and prepare a soft cushion. In front, arrange a painted or sculpted image of the Holy Mother, and offer whatever offerings are available. Sit in the vajra posture. In one's own heart, visualize a wheel of cool rays emanating from the letter 'A'. In its center, visualize a delightful blue lotus, in whose pistil dwells a moon without the mark of a rabbit, upon which resides a green 'ཏཱཾ་' (Tibetan, དྷཱུཾ,Sanskrit Devanagari, dhum, Sanskrit Romanization, dhum, seed syllable). From this seed syllable, rays of light like pure gold emanate, illuminating the ten directions of the world. Invite the great assembly of gurus, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, etc., who dwell in those worlds. Request them to come and abide in the sky in front. Then, offer the seven-limbed prayer, representing the unsurpassed offering: I confess all sins, I rejoice in all virtues, I request the Blessed One to turn the Dharma wheel, I beseech you to remain for the sake of beings. With devotion, I take refuge in the Three Jewels, Until I attain enlightenment, I will never forsake them, I will also truly teach the supreme path, And dedicate all accumulated merit to perfect enlightenment. After dismissing them with 'Om Ah Hum', cultivate the four immeasurables with heartfelt sincerity as follows: May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness! May all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering! May all beings never be separated from the bliss without suffering! May all beings abide in great equanimity, free from attachment, aversion, and indifference! Then, abandoning all conceptual thoughts, focus on a single point and abide in equipoise. Bless with the mantra that purifies the nature of all phenomena: ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཱཿ སརྦ་དྷརྨཱཿ སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཱོ྅ཧཾ། (Tibetan, ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཱཿ སརྦ་དྷརྨཱཿ སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཱོ྅ཧཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari, ॐ स्वभाव शुद्धः सर्व धर्माः स्वभाव शुद्धोऽहम्, Sanskrit Romanization, om svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'ham, Om, nature pure, all dharmas, nature pure, I). ཨཱཏྨ་ཀོ྅ཧཾ། (Ātmako'haṃ) 'Who am I?', a cool-rayed mandala existing before emptiness. In the center of that mandala, within the pistil of a delightful blue lotus, immersed in the moon without the mark of a rabbit, dwells the green letter ཏཱཾ་ (Tibetan, टं, ṭaṃ, seed syllable). Visualize yourself as the Bhagavati Arya Tara, green and beautiful like an emerald ocean, the source of all beauty, with a smiling face, and eyes like blue lotus lassos gazing peacefully. With tassels of various flowers and a fringe tied with a golden diadem of the gods, adorned with wish-fulfilling jewels that accomplish everything. Wearing earrings and necklaces of wish-fulfilling jewels, with delightful pendants that make the heavy breasts even more beautiful, covered with all the lower garments radiating immaculate light. The right hand, adorned with rings, grants supreme blessings, while the thumb of the left hand and forefinger hold the stem of a blooming blue lotus at the heart. Dressed in the five garments and a skirt, supremely elegant at the age of sixteen, radiating hundreds of millions of rays of Jambudvipa gold. On a white lotus the size of a chariot wheel, seated in a half-lotus posture upon a water lily, contemplate as much as desired. Then, at the heart, visualize a cool-rayed mandala. In the center of that mandala, within the pistil of a delightful blue lotus, immersed in the moon without the mark of a rabbit, from the green letter ཏཱཾ་ dwelling upon it, radiate light like pure gold. Illuminating the realms of the ten directions, invite the Bhagavati Jnanasattva, perfectly accomplished from beginningless time, to reside in the space before you. Make offerings in this way: From the heavenly pool endowed with eight qualities, taken by the lotus hands of immortal goddesses, placed in a pleasing vessel, bathe the body of the Bhagavati with scented water. ཨོཾ་ཨཱརྻ་ཏཱ་རེ་ཨརྒྷཾ་པྲ་ཏཱིཙྪ་སྭ་ཧཱ། (Tibetan, ॐ आर्य तारे अर्घं प्रतीच्छ स्वाहा, oṃ ārya tāre arghaṃ pratīccha svāhā, Om, Arya Tara, receive the offering, Svaha!) With wonderful garlands of flowers desired by gods and humans, like the conduct of Samantabhadra, with clouds of offerings thus accomplished, adorn the mandala of the Holy Mother. ནཻ་ཝིདྱཱ། (Tibetan, नैविद्य, naivedya, food) Play all the beautiful instruments together, such as harps, play flutes, beat drums of various sizes, shake bells of a million kinds of instruments, strike cymbals and clappers, and blow conch shells. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
