Like the Kagyu (bka' brgyud) lineage, visualize all the lineage Gurus (bla ma), and all of my body, possessions, and the accumulation of merit of the three times, visualize as a great cloud of offerings arising from the conduct of the noble Samantabhadra (kun tu bzang po), and offer with the seven branches. Recite four rounds of Mani (Om Mani Padme Hum,嗡嘛呢呗咪吽,oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ,the jewel in the lotus) and so on, and pray intensely, with tears streaming down, at all times and in all ways. Moreover, if you integrate all the Gurus who have a Dharma connection into this and pray, it is equivalent to praying to all the Gurus. Similarly, integrating all the Yidams (yi dam) and praying, while integrating mantras into your speech, is equivalent to propitiating all the deities. Integrating all the Dharma protectors (chos skyong) and praying, you eliminate all obstacles and accomplish all favorable conditions. In short, if you know how to arrange the interdependent relationship of the three fields of merit, wisdom, and pure faith with the Guru, then all the necessities of the Dharma will appear at the tip of your hand. Third, meditating on the unnecessary: Until you have completely turned away from attachment to external places, loving relatives, accumulated wealth, cherished body, and all the acceptances and rejections of worldly affairs, abandon from your mind whatever gives rise to attachment, clinging, and desire. Actually, regard it as the poison of a black snake and discard it, saying 'There is absolutely no need' and meditating on it wholeheartedly. Without being swayed by worldly appearances, whenever you encounter the causes of attachment, clinging, and desire, immediately suppress them with such antidotes. Similarly, relinquish any attachment or clinging to the hearing, thinking, and secret meditation experiences and qualities of the inner Dharma, and destroy them with the fierce mantra of the unnecessary. Fourth, practicing reversal: Going to solitary retreats in wild places is the outer practice, abandoning the body as food is the inner practice, and cutting off grasping and clinging is the secret practice. First, go to places that are dangerous, frightening, eerie, desolate, devoid of human traffic, frequented by non-humans and fierce animals, where you fear being eaten, robbed, or killed, saying 'There is absolutely no need' and meditating on it in your mind, blocking all paths of hope. Say and meditate, 'Whatever comes, let it come! Wherever I go, let me go!' Throw yourself into the deepest pit of fear. In short, turn your back on happiness and embrace suffering, and immediately do whatever you cannot bear to do. Do not do what others do not want to do. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or, to transform all that needs to be abandoned into what needs to be accomplished here, which is called 'the meditation of reversing the antidote.' This method should be practiced when the body and mind feel discomfort. It is important not to let the thief of hope steal your results. The second method is: When visions of gods or demons arise, or considering that all sentient beings are parents, they may seek revenge and harbor animosity, one should think: 'Now I will offer my body as a ransom to them.' Then, visualize summoning all the appearing gods and demons before you and say: 'Take whatever you desire right now!' This includes the twelve parts of the body (head counted as the thirteenth part), the five senses, the five inner organs, the six hollow organs, flesh and blood, bones, marrow and fat, brain and spinal cord, oil and blood, hair and nails, skin and dirt, breath and life, radiance and vitality, and so on. By abandoning attachment to the body, visualize them devouring greedily and feeling satisfied. Through this sacrifice of flesh and blood, may the gods and demons gathered here pacify their anger and cruelty, turn away from harming and infringing upon sentient beings, be filled with immaculate great compassion, abide in the Bodhicitta that benefits sentient beings, and thus enter the wisdom of omniscience. After saying this, the body has been offered to the gods and demons. Understand that even if beings from the Brahma world are hostile to you, they cannot hinder your mind from abiding in emptiness. All external illusions and obstacles from evil spirits arise from internal delusions. Therefore, cut off the wandering thoughts inside and out, and let the mind abide in its unaltered natural state. The third method is: In the first moment when thoughts arise, recognize all spontaneously arising thoughts, then utter a forceful 'ཕཊ྄་' (Tibetan, Devanagari: फट्, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Pa!), dissolve them into the nature of reality. If you find that the mind is not abiding there, but chasing after external objects, recite 'ཕཊ྄་' (Tibetan, Devanagari: फट्, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Pa!) to gather the scattered thoughts. When needing to focus on a target, recite 'ཕཊ྄་' (Tibetan, Devanagari: फट्, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Pa!) to clarify the dull mind. Through this method, the mind will not be distracted. The fifth is purifying the Buddha-field: Whatever appears is the various forms of the Guru. When seeing them, with devotion, merge your mind with the Guru's mind, abide in equality, thus causing the appearance to become the union of emptiness and appearance, which is called 'the Samadhi of the Vajra Body.' Whatever is heard is the Guru's indestructible sound. Whatever is thought is the Guru's wisdom. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
