Introduction. Profound Path of Guru Yoga, Complete Instructions for Two Sessions. Homage to the immaculate lotus feet of the Vajra Master, the Great Lord. In the enclosure of the four leisures, welcome the virtuous guests who desire liberation; The fragrance of the four empowerments dispels fatigue; Satisfying them with the fruits of the four bodies; I bow to the garland of the four kinds of teachers. Nourishing the lineage with the wealth of knowledge, Extracting the nectar of oral instructions from the ocean of scriptures, These rare and wonderful medicines, Benefit the world, I bow to the feet of Tilopa. The precious gem of the Buddha's words, Adorned with the frame of six edges and four aspects, Opening it as it is, dispelling the darkness of ignorance, I bow to the great Pandit Naropa and his lineage. Hastening to the place of manifest enlightenment, The many difficult paths, with the sunlight of eloquent words, Not scorched, relying on the initial cool shade, Opening this swift path is truly fortunate. The chief of all extensive scriptures, The supreme of all wondrous depths, The accomplishment of all excellent wisdom, The instruction that makes one know all by knowing one. The path of empowerment that holds three times, The practice method of seeing Vajrasattva's face, the extremely secret place of the Tathagatas, this is the sequence of leading to the four bodies of the Guru in one lifetime. Introduction. How the Vajra words came about, in two parts: Firstly, in the great kingdom of Zahor in the eastern illusory realm, a disciple of the Sugata named Tilopa, practicing yoga, dwells to benefit those with fortune. Thus it is said. The jewel on the crown of all Panditas, Jowo (Tibetan: ཇོ་བོ, Meaning: Lord) Naropa, abandoning the actions of a scholar, sought after him, why? He met him at the Otantapuri monastery. There, he requested to be taken as a disciple, and was granted two verses of 'Field, Intention, and Object' and then departed. Following him, he could not bear even the words of others, pleasing him with twelve great difficult deeds, and was granted the desired accomplishments as a blessing, truly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From one to another, it spread throughout Jambudvipa like the sun. Having heard this, all the mantra holders of Tibet abandoned body and life to prostrate before Vajradhara Marpa, and served the lotus feet of that supreme yogi, drinking all the honey of secret instructions, pouring wisdom into the wisdom vase of Shri Hevajra, becoming the nectar of his heart. Jetsun Zla'od Zhonnu, Vajra Raja, Padma Vajra, and Yeshe Dorje, etc., were accustomed to the ways of yoga. By pleasing the tutelary deity, they were fearless in accomplishing great benefit for others, passing from ear to ear the essence of the lineage. Vajrasattva himself was named Ngagwang Chokyi Gyalpo, and up to that point, the Vajra Master showed me the lineage in detail and granted me permission to open the extremely secret mudra. The second part is a summary of the meaning of the words. It is divided into manifestation and detailed explanation. The first part is: 'Field, intention, and object, combine these three and pray, the desired fruit will surely arise. Yogi, do not be lazy.' The field refers to the guru who appears as the six realms in the visualized mandala, the four castes in the body mandala, the two castes in the lotus mandala, and the one caste in the bodhicitta mandala. Intention refers to wanting to attain the emanation body, the complete enjoyment body, the dharma body, and the nature body. Object refers to offerings. Prayer refers to performing yoga. The desired fruit refers to the vajra of body, speech, mind, and wisdom. If one exhausts day and night with it, accomplishment will surely be attained in one lifetime, and it is difficult to find elsewhere. Thus, it is taught not to be lazy. The only way to eliminate obstacles is the guru. The root of faults lies in not keeping vows, and conversely, if one keeps the guru's vows, all obstacles will be pacified. Do not seek the means of liberation elsewhere, the only means of liberation is the guru.' Thus it is said. The yogi is the ancient awakened one. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
