Thus it is said: In the eastern region of the snowy land, the area of Kongpo, the green grass is pleasing to the mind, covering all the land. It is as if adorned with various brightly colored flowers. The young bees gathered there hum and sing. Many beautiful and lovely deer live peacefully without fear. Parrots, partridges, cuckoos, and various birds with beautiful and lovely feathers, engage in playful games, conversing with each other. Trees with good colors, flourishing branches and leaves, bearing abundant fruits, and various vines filled with fragrant scents fill the area. New bamboo shoots and reeds sway in the breeze, making rustling sounds, as if singing and dancing. 4-154 The great river Lohita (Sanskrit: Lohita, Red River) with eight qualities, blue and clear like melted lapis lazuli, flows slowly. Made clear by the springs that murmur and rush down the mountainsides. Swans, cranes, ducks, and many beautiful water birds enter the water to bathe, scattering water with their coral-red toes. Rocky mountains, forests, and various medicinal plants make the mind feel satisfied, like a garden of the gods, the land is peaceful, the harvests are good, and it is filled with many people. People enjoy prosperous lives, filled with joyful conversations and song and dance, worthy of comparison to a city of the heavens. In the village of Chim Yul Gon, the family of mantra practitioners is blessed by Dorje Zhonnu (Vajrakumara, Diamond Youth). The parents, known as Jowo Sras Klu'i dbang po (Lord of Nagas, Son of the Lord) and Chos skyong sgrol ma (Dharmapala Tara, Dharma-Protecting Tara), are praised as fortunate, naturally good, and diligent in virtue. A Bodhisattva, moistened by the fruits of compassion and wisdom, with a good disposition pleasing to all sentient beings, conceived a child. I dreamed that a mandala of the sun, radiating light, entered my abdomen. Upon waking, I was very frightened and told a friend. Then, on a full moon day, in the year when everything was subdued, in the last period of summer, when the crops were heavy with the burden of grain ears, I was born. At that moment, very many auspicious signs appeared, but ignorant people did not know whose power it was. I was busy being a slave to great wealth, and the humble were trapped in a cage of suffering by being despised. This pure middle class was praised by the Victorious Ones, and I followed in the footsteps of the holy ones, therefore I adhered to them. The body of Phagpa Chakna Dorje (Avalokiteshvara, Sanskrit: Arya Vajrapani), with the blazing light of blessings, came from about a yojana (ancient Indian unit of length) away to where I was, and together with many friends, circumambulated. When they clearly recited the six-syllable mantra (藏文：ཕྱག་ན་པདྨོའི་སྙིང་པོ་འབྲུ་དྲུག་པ་，梵文天城体：，梵文罗马拟音：，汉语字面意思：莲花手中的精华六字) three or four times, those gathered there heard it, gained great joy, and were universally known as 'Awo Mani Ba'. At that time, I was about two and a half months old. A demon who became an obstacle was also born nearby at the same time, with six thumbs on his hands and feet, and possessed all ugly characteristics. In order to avert all harm, the wisdom goddess Remati (藏文：ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ལྷ་མོ་རེ་མ་ཏི་，梵文天城体：，梵文罗马拟音：，汉语字面意思：智慧女神瑞玛迪) followed like a shadow, and my mother cared for me as if I were her only child. Groups of non-humans (devas and nagas) offered and revered me, and in order to protect myself, I followed them. The diviners and they also passed this way of doing things on to others. Those whose eyes of goodness were obscured by the cataract of ignorance gossiped that a lama of inferior qualities thought himself to be accomplished. Even so, what difference does it make if good gold is covered in ashes? At the age of three, I met my great spiritual friend from a previous life, who had surpassed all merits, Drukpa Rinpoche Ngawang Chökyi Gyalpo (藏文：འབྲུག་པ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ངག་དབང་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ་), whose white banner of fame stretched to the end of existence, adorned with the strength of a peaceful and gentle heart, with an entourage of about five hundred renunciates. He gave great blessings, but because the time had not yet come, he remained neutral for the time being. This young child was not interested in worldly affairs, strove to do good, did not give opportunities for sin, and diligently prevented others from doing evil.
