Oṃ! In order to examine Monyul paper and so forth, all the scriptures made from them, especially those known as 'silk paper' (gos shog), which are soft and smooth, with round patterns of red and white flowers, written with a turquoise blue melt of lapis lazuli (vaiḍūrya), are known as 'lapis lazuli books' (vaiḍūrya'i glegs bam). Thus, this brief treatise on examining supports, composed by the monk Pema Karpo (dge slong padma dkar po) for the sake of the wise and compassionate nephew, Omniscient Tsewang (mkhyen brtse dbon po tshe dbang kun mkhyen), and the scholar Kowa, Ralpajor, Nyamga Lodoe (mkhas skor ba rnal 'byor nyams dga' blo bde), is complete!
