Oh, teachings of Khenpo Paden Dhondup: A Clear Explanation of the Practices of the Ushnishavijaya Dharma Cycle A Clear Explanation of the Practices of the Ushnishavijaya Dharma Cycle To which scripture does this Dharma belong? A Clear Explanation of the Practices of the Ushnishavijaya Dharma Cycle Namo Guruve! Homage to the Sugata, golden light, the emanation of a lion. Supreme son of the heart, the protector, immortal lord. To tame beings, assuming the form of a goddess. I prostrate to the feet of Ushnishavijaya. Practice according to the ritual and so on. As spoken in the Dharani and Tantra. According to the unerring lineage's precepts. Listen as I clearly explain with unerring words! Here, I will briefly explain the practice of taking to heart the meaning spoken in the Ushnishavijaya Tantra. There are two aspects: identifying which scripture this Dharma belongs to; and ascertaining the meaning of what has been identified. Firstly, if all the Buddha's teachings are gathered, they are contained within Sutra and Tantra. This belongs to the Tantra. There are many divisions of the Tantra, and according to the system of the four Tantras, it belongs to the Action Tantra. There are two types: individual Tantras and general Tantras. The first has six: the Tantra of the Tathagata family, similarly the Padma family, the Vajra family, the Five Peaks family, the Jewel family, and the Tantra of the Worldly family. The second, the general Tantras, are: the Secret General Tantra, the Well-Accomplished, the Later Samadhi, and the one Requested by Strong Arm, these four. Thus, out of the two, general and individual, the main proof that the approximately two hundred and fifty categories of Tantras in these six individual Tantras are classified as Action Tantras is that the practice of self-generation is not mentioned in these, and only the need to perform bathing and cleansing is mentioned. Here, it belongs to the Tathagata family. There are eight: the Tantra of the family's chief, similarly the family's lord, the family's mother, the family's ushnisha, the family's wrathful deity and wrathful mother, the family's messenger and messenger woman, the Bodhisattva included in the Tathagata family, and the Tantra of the pure abode deity. Of these, the fourth in the lineage is the Ushnisha Tantra. In that, there are four types of Ushnisha Umbrella, three types of Ushnishavijaya, and one type of Ushnisha Immaculate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One, the Dharani of the Supreme Compassionate Uṣṇīṣa (gTsug-tor), the tantra of the Uṣṇīṣa has nine kinds of purity. Among them, it is the tantra of Vijayā (rNam-gyal). Among them, there are three, the first is the question of Avalokiteśvara (sPyan-ras-gZigs): In the depths of the blissful world (bDe-ba-can), to the teacher Amitāyus (Tshe-dpag-med-pa) 1-25 It was spoken by the questioner Avalokiteśvara, and then King Śākya (Shakya'i-rGyal-po) also spoke again, and the distinction of internal practice is: At the top of Mount Sumeru (Ri-rab), on the thirty-third heaven (sum-cu-rtsa-gsum), to the teacher King Śākya, asked by the King of Gods (Lha'i-dBang-po). Also, the Dharani of Uṣṇīṣa Vijayā and the distinction, or called the first chapter, in which the thirty-three gods are spoken of, one of the three good deeds done by Acharya (a-tsarya) Dharmapāla (Darpana), but the venerable (rJe-bTsun) master did not come in person, so what needs to be determined here is the meaning of the other two distinctions. Thus it is said. Two, from where does the order of transmission come? The second has three: From where does the order of transmission come? Here, the actual situation of the arising practice is explained, and its benefits are explained. The first is: Starting from the Perfect Buddha (rDzogs-pa'i-sangs-rgyas) and Maitreya (Byams-mgon), there are seven transmissions to Vairocana (Bai-ro-tsa-na), which is the way the venerable master transmitted. Also, the teacher King Śākya, the Lord of Secrets (gSang-bdag) Vajrapāṇi (Phyag-na-rDo-rje), the great accomplished one (Grub-chen) Subduing Enemies (dGra-las) Vijayā, the great Vajrasana (rDo-rje-gDan-pa), the small one Amoghavajra (Don-yod-rDo-rje), Bari Lotsawa (Ba-ri-lo-tsa-ba), Great Compassion (brTse-chen) Kunga Nyingpo (Kun-dga'-sNying-po), Venerable Name Banner (Grags-pa-rGyal-mTshan), Dharma Lord (Chos-rje) Sakya Paṇḍita (Sa-skya-pan-chen) 1-26 Holy Treasure ('Phags-pa-rin-po-che), Zhang Konchok Pal (Zhang-dKon-mChog-dPal), Drakphukpa (Brag-phug-pa), Sonam Pal (bSod-nams-dPal), Ritropa Lodro Tenpa (Ri-khrod-pa-blo-gros-brTan-pa), Lama Pelden Tsultrim (Bla-ma-dPal-ldan-tshul-khrims), Sharchen Yeshe Gyaltsen (Shar-chen-ye-shes-rGyal-mTshan), Vajradhara (rDo-rje-'chang) Kunga Zangpo (Kun-dga'-bZang-po) and so on. At the time of those venerable masters, there were also many different branches of transmission, especially the transmissions branched out from the many virtuous disciples of the great guide ( 'Dren-mChog) Kunga Zangpo, which are difficult to list. If only in terms of the lineage of successors, there are: the Venerable himself to the Regent (rGyal-tshab) Dampa Kunga Wangchuk (Kun-dga'-dBang-phyug), Yongdzin (Yongs-'dzin) Konchok Phel (dKon-mChog-'Phel-ba), Je Lhachok Senge (rJe-lHa-mChog-seng-ge), Je Sangye Senge (rJe-sangs-rgyas-seng-ge) and so on. Second, regarding practice, there are two: the way it is said in the distinctions, and the actual way of practice. The first is: the practice from that transmission is called the Sakya (Sa-skya-pa) way, and the reliance on this is the commentary on the mixture of the two distinctions made by the Venerable Tsemoche (rJe-bTsun-rtse-mos). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
