The Ritual of Offering to the Great King Vaishravana and His Retinue - The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Treasury Namo Guru Buddha Bodhisattva! I prostrate to the root and lineage lamas, the source of all that is desired, And to the many protectors of the teachings, Vaishravana! To please them, I will explain this offering ritual, For the benefit of the teachings and beings, I will elaborate here. Here, to practice 'The Ritual of Offering to the Great King Vaishravana and His Retinue - The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Treasury,' the practitioner must have received empowerment and possess vows, have received the subsequent permission of Vajrapani and the great Dharma protectors, and especially the vows to be observed include: wearing a blue upper garment, holding a rosary, not eating horse meat, not eating food from a bereaved family, not sitting on a black cushion, not eating from broken utensils, and not touching corpses and horse carcasses. These seven vows must be kept. The external support is a real horse or a picture of a horse, the internal support is a painting made according to the ritual, and the secret support is a gau box made according to the ritual, containing the letter वै(藏文,贝,梵文天城体:वै,梵文罗马拟音:vai,汉语字面意思:captivating) and mantras. These three supports must be properly arranged, and the yogi who wishes to practice this Dharma should, on an auspicious day of the waxing moon, in a clean and secluded place, display the images of the yidam and Dharma protectors. If conditions permit, a mandala of the main deity and retinue of nine deities can be drawn on a mandala smeared with fragrant water. Prepare grand and excellent tormas (offerings) for the yidam, Dharma protectors, the eight horse lords, and all the retinue respectively. If conditions do not permit, prepare one torma for the yidam and Dharma protectors in general. According to custom, prepare a large torma in the shape of a khangzang (a Tibetan-style house) for supplication and confession, as well as the four preliminary offerings. Add fragrant water to the conch shell and prepare a sprinkler. Prepare eye medicine and lime, as well as vajra and bell, various musical instruments, and other offerings as available. Then, with foot washing water, flowers, incense, lamps, supreme fragrance, food, and music, transform them into a pure and unobstructed realm that pervades the expanse of the sky. Recite this mantra, along with their respective mudras: Om Vajra Prokshaṇa Hūṃ Svāhā. Similarly, add: Arghaṃ, Pādyaṃ, Ācamanaṃ. Om Vajra Puṣpe Āḥ Hūṃ, until the end of Śabda, bless with music. Preceded by refuge and generating Bodhicitta. 14-760 Visualize yourself instantly transforming into Vajrapāṇi, with a blue Hūṃ syllable at his heart. From that syllable, rays of light emanate, inviting the Guru and Vajrapāṇi, surrounded by assemblies of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Recite: Om Vajra Samājaḥ, then prostrate. Recite: Namo Guru Bhyaḥ, Namo Vajrapāṇi Saparivāre Bhyaḥ, to prostrate. Offer with flowers, etc. Seek refuge in the Three Jewels. Recite the above three times, confessing misdeeds. Practice the Four Immeasurables. Purify with emptiness. Within emptiness, from the syllable Paṃ arises a lotus, from the syllable A arises a moon disc, upon which is a blue Hūṃ syllable, transforming into a five-pronged vajra, marked in the center with the syllable Hūṃ. From that syllable, rays of light emanate, offering to the noble ones, benefiting sentient beings. The light rays converge and dissolve, instantly transforming oneself into Vajrapāṇi, with a blue body, one face, and two arms. The right hand raises a five-pronged vajra into the sky, the left hand forms a threatening mudra at the heart. The right leg is drawn in, the left leg is extended. Yellow hair stands upright. Eyes are red and round, possessing three eyes. Baring fangs, rolling the tongue. Wearing a blue celestial garment and a tiger skin skirt. Adorned with the eight great nāgas. Abiding within a blazing fire of wisdom. 14-761 At his forehead is a white Oṃ syllable, at his throat is a red Āḥ syllable, at his heart is a blue Hūṃ syllable. From that syllable, rays of light emanate, inviting Vajrapāṇi from the northern Cool Grove, surrounded by assemblies of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Offer as before. Recite Jaḥ Hūṃ Baṃ Hoḥ, visualize dissolving into oneself. Again, from the syllable Hūṃ, rays of light emanate, inviting all the powerful Tathāgatas. Offer as before. They recite: Om Vajrapāṇi Abhiṣiñca Mi, and bestow empowerment, purifying all the sins and obscurations of body, speech, and mind. The remaining nectar flows upwards, adorned on the crown by Akshobhya. On the moon disc at one's own heart, the syllable Hūṃ is surrounded by a rosary of mantras, from which rays of light emanate, offering to the noble ones, subduing all the malicious. May all the blessings of the compassion of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas be obtained. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
