Ngawang Kunga Sonam's Instructions ANK18 Kyai Dorje Body Mandala Empowerment 3-1 Kyai Dorje Body Mandala Empowerment Identifying whether it belongs to the Sutra or Tantra tradition A text titled 'A Good Explanation of How to Enter the Writings of the Sakya School, Widely Opening the Eight Directions of the Dharma Door for All Beings in Tibet'. Namo Guru Chakranatha Buddhadhvajaye. Homage to the Guru, Lord of the Wheel, Buddha Banner) Having paid homage to the glorious and venerable Lama, The way to enter the scriptures of the Sakya lords, The Dharma door is opened in eight directions for kalpas, Here, I will spread this good explanation. Here, the way to enter the scriptures of the glorious Sakya school is to first study the four great treatises that are like doors or have the name of doors, then abide in the four great transmissions, purify them with the two, discipline and wisdom, and strive for the three activities of the wise with the three, hearing, thinking, and meditating, which is the order of entering the path. The first of the four great treatises is the commentary written by Jetsun Tsempo, and the 'Entrance for Children' written by Dharma Lord Sapen, which mainly teaches the length of letters and the combination of sounds, and that treatise should be studied. After that, one should study the 'Entrance to the Dharma' written by Tsempo himself, which teaches how it first appeared, how its teachings came about, and how to enter it. 3-2 After that, one should also study the 'Entrance to the Tantras' written by Tsempo himself, which is a general presentation of the tantra divisions that makes one know the state of all sutras and tantras separately. After that, one should study the great treatise 'Entrance for the Wise' written by Dharma Lord Sapen, which teaches the presentation of the three, explaining, debating, and composing. Having studied in this way, one should then abide in the four great transmissions, namely, the Sakya great master himself received from Drokmi Lotsawa the oral transmission of inconceivable instructions including the Lamdre and other nine paths, the explanation of the three Kyai Dorje tantras and the oral instructions; from Mal Lotsawa Lodro Drakpa he received the Hevajra Luipa, Krishnacharya, and Ghantapada three, and the Yamari, the three black cycles, and other instructions, and the Dharma protectors and other inconceivable transmissions; the transmission from Gunton Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo, from Lama Yontan Tsultrim. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

一般来说,佛所说的形式是:根本续广本有七十万颂,略本有五十万颂,后续是《大手印明点》(phya chen thig le),后后续是《智慧精髓明点》(ye shes snying po thig le),不共的释续是《智慧明点》(ye shes thig le),共同的释续是《吉祥桑布扎》(dpal saM bhu Ti)三十六万颂,心髓续是《成就决定明点》(sgrub pa nges bstan thig le),果续是《真如度母明点》(de kho na nyid sgrol ma thig le),从根本续五十万颂中摘出的《第二观察》(brtag pa gnyis pa)和《金刚帐续》(rdo rje gur),从《桑布扎》三十六万颂中摘出的《吉祥合和续》(dpal kha sbyor gyi rgyud)和《金刚阿惹哩》(rdo rje a ra li),《无垢阿惹哩》(rnyog pa med pa'i a ra li),《种姓阿惹哩》(rigs kyi a ra li),总共说了十四部续。 在这些续部中,翻译到藏地的有广本的《帐续》、《观察续》、《桑布扎续》三部,中本的《明点五续》(thig le skor lnga),略本的《阿惹哩三续》(a ra li skor gsum)。

Furthermore, there was an inconceivable transmission of great and small Yogas, protectors, and so forth. And an inconceivable transmission of essential instructions, primarily based on the practices of the hundred methods, etc., from Bari Lotsawa Rinchen Drak (Ba ri Lo tsā ba Rin chen grags) (a famous Indian translator). 3-3 Here, first, to establish the order of the path of the nine deities of Hevajra (kyE rdo rje) (the deity of the Hevajra Tantra), mainly based on the stages of the path of Hevajra transmitted by Drogmi the Great ('Brog mi chen po) (one of the founders of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism). This includes identifying whether this teaching belongs to the Sutra or Tantra vehicle, examining how many traditions arose after that identification, identifying the most extraordinary tradition among those traditions, and explaining the manner of establishing that identified path. First, in 'The Clarifier of Essentials' (gnad kyi gsal byed), it is said: 'The words of the Sugata are the Great Vehicle of Secret Mantra Tantra. Among the four classes of tantras, the Anuttarayoga is the most supreme.' Among these, 'the words of the Sugata' indicates that the teachings of this path have outer and inner divisions, and here it belongs to the inner. 'The Great Vehicle' indicates that among the Great and Small Vehicles, it belongs to the Great Vehicle. 'Secret Mantra Tantra' indicates that within the Great Vehicle, there are causal and resultant vehicles, and here it belongs to the resultant Mantra Vehicle. 'Among the four classes of tantras, the Anuttara' indicates that within the Resultant Mantra Vehicle, there are also four great classes of tantras, and here it belongs to the Anuttarayoga class. 'Non-dual most supreme' indicates that within the Anuttarayoga, there are father, mother, and non-dual tantras, and the non-dual tantra is the Hevajra. 3-4 Within such traditions, generally, the tantras spoken by the Buddha exist. How many were translated into Tibetan, and how do we identify the one being discussed here? Generally, the way the Buddha spoke is: the root tantra in its extensive form has seven hundred thousand verses, the condensed form has five hundred thousand verses, the subsequent tantra is the 'Great Seal Bindu' (phya chen thig le), the subsequent subsequent tantra is the 'Essence of Wisdom Bindu' (ye shes snying po thig le), the uncommon explanatory tantra is the 'Wisdom Bindu' (ye shes thig le), the common explanatory tantra is the 'Glorious Sambhuti' (dpal saM bhu Ti) with thirty-six hundred thousand verses, the heart essence tantra is the 'Definite Teaching Bindu of Accomplishment' (sgrub pa nges bstan thig le), the result tantra is the 'Suchness Tara Bindu' (de kho na nyid sgrol ma thig le), the 'Second Examination' (brtag pa gnyis pa) and the 'Vajra Tent Tantra' (rdo rje gur) extracted from the root tantra of five hundred thousand verses, the 'Glorious Union Tantra' (dpal kha sbyor gyi rgyud) and the 'Vajra Arali' (rdo rje a ra li), the 'Immaculate Arali' (rnyog pa med pa'i a ra li), the 'Lineage Arali' (rigs kyi a ra li) extracted from the 'Sambhuti' of thirty-six hundred thousand verses, thus fourteen tantras were spoken. Among these tantras, those translated into Tibetan are the extensive 'Tent Tantra', 'Examination Tantra', and 'Sambhuti Tantra', the intermediate 'Five Bindu Tantras' (thig le skor lnga), and the concise 'Three Arali Tantras' (a ra li skor gsum). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
