Illusory Body Pride Vajra Paper. Illusory Body Pride Vajra Paper. The oral instructions of Udyāna (Sanskrit: Udyāna, meaning 'garden'), the essence of all Ḍākinīs (Sanskrit: Ḍākinī, female spirit), the essence of all Tantras (Sanskrit: Tantra, scriptures) gathered, oral instructions like refined gold. Written by the great Pal Naropa (Sanskrit: Naropa): The practice of harmonizing the times, the practice of harmonizing food within, the practice of harmonizing the activities of the people, is clearly shown in this instruction. At the time of secret empowerment, on a spotless mirror, write Vajrasattva (Sanskrit: Vajrasattva), his image is like an appearance. It should be realized through the twelve metaphors of illusion. The oral instruction of the illusory body, the order of self-blessing [In the five orders, the order of self-blessing is obtained, the main deity is the self-nature of all Buddhas, in this life one will attain Buddhahood without doubt. As Āryadeva (Sanskrit: Āryadeva): In countless eons, even if one has reached the other shore of learning, if one turns away from self-blessing, one will not see Suchness.] This has four meanings: nature, definition, classification, and names. The nature of illusion: in the absence of something, suddenly fabricating and clinging to names, words, and terms, appearing as real. The definition of illusion: like the illusionary scenes conjured from elephant bones, yak tail hair, pieces of wood, and pebbles, similarly, the body born from the essence of the parents, combined with the aggregates of consciousness, appears as an illusory body. Just as an illusionist dismantles an illusion, causing it to return to its original state, so too will one's own body immediately turn into earth and stone due to some cause, therefore one should understand one's own body as an illusion. There are four classifications: the illusory view to be abandoned, the illusory view to be cultivated, the illusory view for one's own benefit, and the illusory view for the benefit of others. The illusory view to be abandoned: viewing the suffering of the six realms as an enemy, regarding it as something to be abandoned, is also truly seeing it as an illusion. The illusory view to be cultivated: viewing the path of Nirvāṇa (Sanskrit: Nirvāṇa), Śamatha (Sanskrit: Śamatha) and Vipaśyanā (Sanskrit: Vipaśyanā), and joy and happiness as tiresome, is also truly seeing it as an illusion. The illusory view for one's own benefit: the oral instruction with the mind as the object, the practice of Dharmakāya (Sanskrit: Dharmakāya), the intention of the Buddha, is also truly seeing it as an illusion. The illusory view for the benefit of others: teaching the Dharma in a dream, neither oneself nor others are accomplished.

Thus, being free from the mind of hope and fear regarding samsara and nirvana. When classifying, the types of illusion are: all phenomena that appear and exist are like illusions and emanations that are manipulated. [The Sutra of the Good Illusionist says: The illusion of karma is all sentient beings in the six realms. The illusion of conditions is reflections in a mirror, etc. The illusion of dharma is the monks of my retinue. I am the perfectly complete Buddha, the illusion of wisdom.] Because they appear as false, they are like illusions and emanations; because they exist in the nature of one's own consciousness, they are like dreams and double vision; because they appear as unreal but are grasped as real, they are like optical illusions and hairs in the sky; because they appear but have no self-nature, they are like reflections in a mirror and the moon in water; because they are clear but cannot be grasped, they are like rainbows in the sky and fireflies; because they appear as illusions in the sky, they are like mirages and cities of gandharvas; because they arise from conditions, they are like echoes in valleys and flickering stars; because they are impermanent, one should realize them as bubbles and mists. These are all key instructions on cause, condition, and interdependence. In the state of equipoise, all appearances are like dreams, and everything is visualized as an illusory water moon. By practicing in this way, wisdom will arise. Again, after waking from sleep, in the post-meditation period, one should do this: clearly show one's ordinary body in a mirror, display it to oneself in front, and visualize it very clearly in the mind. Clearly show it, enumerate its qualities, and praise it. By doing so, a feeling of joy will arise towards it, because it is an illusory body. Sometimes, one can enumerate many different offerings, and even if one enumerates them, one will not be unhappy. By practicing in this way many times, it will become very stable, and then one will return to one's own body again. If one praises the illusory body, one will not feel happy; if one disparages it, one will not feel unhappy. Practice in this way. If one does not wish it to appear clearly, one can also visualize it in front and then return to the body and continue to practice. One will definitely see it as an illusory water moon body, and one's own clinging to reality will disappear, and it will be effortless to reverse the clinging to all appearances. Everything will appear clearly as an illusion. Ordinary appearances will no longer arise, and when this happens, because oneself and all appearances have been established as illusory, no matter how one transforms them...
