The Experiential Song of the Great Perfection View, called The Music of Sound. The Experiential Song of the Great Perfection View, called The Music of Sound. The Experiential Song of the Great Perfection View, called The Music of Sound, thus it abides. The lama who introduces the mind itself as the Dharmakaya, May the kindness without turning back abide in my heart. Thinking about the state of the secret nature of reality, I will speak three words of wondrous joy. That jewel of awareness and knowledge, which has been lost for so long, What am I, a sentient and impoverished being, to do? The self-face of the spontaneously arisen, coemergent Dharmakaya, It seems as if I am about to meet that which I have never met. The wisdom sword of cutting through whatever arises, When applied directly to the spontaneously arisen mind, Just the absence of identifying this as that, I wonder if that is protecting the essence. All kinds of grasping and being grasped are the self-display of awareness, The happiness and suffering of the three realms are the waves of awareness, Those who are not protected by the unerring awareness, Only the deluded mind, I hope, will exhaust itself. In one way, only the spontaneously arisen awareness, Only by its kindness, I hope to be liberated, If this evil, deluded mind were to take hold, Even the Buddhas of the three times would have no way to subdue it. All kinds of changes are the expressions of the unchanging awareness, Therefore, there is a way to be liberated. This mind-essence that is not established in any way, The direct experience of appearing in everything, The moon's reflection in water, which cannot be grasped by grasping, It seems that one should understand just this much. Searching for the mind of various moving thoughts, It arises in the natural state of the unobtainable, It seems to be the stainless realm of awareness, I hope that the unerring wisdom will protect me. The face of the spontaneously arisen, uncontaminated awareness, On the surface of the clear mirror of the all-ground, In a way that is without grasping, it seems to be there and not there, I, a madman, do not engage in conceptual analysis. The ultimate testament of the lamas of the three lineages, By releasing a bird with the vajra essence, Relieving the hardship of searching far away, I hope to see the coemergent wisdom. Now, some of our realized ones, Hoping that there is something to grasp as meditation, Although they boast that the essence of neither being nor non-being is primordially established, That is the intent of Ati, But in the Great Perfection of self-liberation on all four sides, There is no permanently existing three aggregates, it is said, Free from elaboration.

If one probes into the key point of utter openness, there is no certainty as to what this is, what to meditate on, or what will become. If it exists, one meditates on that which exists as it is, but the way in which it exists is never seen. If it does not exist, one meditates on something that does not exist in one direction, but the conclusion of non-existence is never decided. Both existence and non-existence are ways of distinguishing what is, but the nature of mind never abides in them. Both existence and non-existence are knowledge that transcends, and one never fixates on the true establishment of the three aggregates. Since the realm of what this is and what that is has not been found, there is only the grasping of meditating on this and meditating on that. Now, the exhaustion of the weariness of wanting to search is over, and one abides in a state of ease and contentment. The waves of various moving thoughts are incessant, and if it exists, it does exist, but it is just like this now. It does not seem to be something rough and coarse, but like ice melting into water, it appears to be gentle and pleasant. Common followers of the Sutra system, Mind-Only, and Madhyamaka schools, place on the image of the stainless jewel of awareness the lump of earth of truly established external objects, the red-hot iron ball of grasping at truth, the bright lamp of inherent characteristics, the piece of rainbow of mere negation emptiness, the radiance of the sky of emptiness clinging to truth, and the stainless crystal ball of clinging to the two truths. Although they attach various names, the jewel of awareness is lost. Many scholars and accomplished ones of Sakya, Gelug, Kagyu, and Nyingma, although they proclaim the clear and empty, non-grasping pure state of affairs, the emptiness free from elaboration that possesses all supreme aspects, the unmade, spontaneously arisen Great Seal, the absence of affirmation of neither existence nor non-existence, and so on, with various boastful words, it would be good if it were a wisdom beyond mind, by the power of scripture, reason, instructions, and experience, but what exactly is the place to point the finger? Since it is not a rejection of external objects at a distance, may all the two schools of realists be pleased. Although it is empty of inherent existence, it is reasonable to know everything, so may all the Mind-Only proponents be pleased. Although it is free from elaboration, the appearance is bright, so may all the Khenpos of Shar Sum be pleased (Shar Sum refers to the three founders of the Sakya school). Although it exists, there is no affirmation of true establishment, so may all the proponents of negation be pleased. Since it transcends the phenomena of particles and moments, may all the proponents of eternal emptiness be pleased. Truth.
