Also named "Notes on the Practice of the Combined Three Roots of Terma Treasure: Light of Jewels." Also named "Notes on the Practice of the Combined Three Roots of Terma Treasure: Light of Jewels." Herein lies the text of "Notes on the Practice of the Combined Three Roots of Terma Treasure: Light of Jewels." Namo Guru Padma Manjushri Vajra Tikshnaya. Here, the essence of the profound terma treasure of the Guru Buddha who tames beings, the collective father of the ocean of accomplished terma revealers, the peerless omniscient Dorje Ziji Tsal (rdo rje gzi brjid), the supreme guide of us, received the command as a renewed terma. This is a concise guide to the combined practice of the Three Roots, a method of meditation. As it is the oral transmission of the peaceful protector Lama himself, abandoning self-creation, it is recorded as notes. This has three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. The first has two parts: the preliminary of a session and the preliminary of the guide. First, as it is said in the text, "Sit upright on a comfortable seat, practice the nine rounds of breath," etc. Thus, among the three: body posture, speech posture, and mind posture, First, in a secluded place, sit on a comfortable seat, the body posture is the seven-point posture of Vairochana, or even if not, sit upright. The speech posture is to practice the nine rounds of breath or three rounds of breath, visualizing that all illnesses, evil spirits, sins, and obscurations are dispelled like smoke vanishing from a chimney. Calm the mind, thinking, "For the benefit of all sentient beings pervading the sky, I will practice this profound path." Visualize the root guru above your head, thinking of him as the essence of the union of all refuges. With immeasurable devotion, pray to the essence of all Buddhas of the three times, "Lama Rinpoche, have mercy. Please bless my mind-stream." After making this prayer of abandoning all expectations, visualize the guru dissolving into light, visualizing it dissolving into you from the crown of your head. Whatever visualization you practice below, it is good to practice this well before the session. Second, the preliminary of the guide has three parts: inspiring the mind-stream with renunciation, connecting with refuge, and generating the supreme bodhicitta. First, through the four ways of turning the mind away from samsara, the guide to definitely arising from all of samsara, as explained in detail elsewhere, one must engage in it until experience arises. Here, assuming that experience has already arisen, it is presented as a slight clarification. If those visualizations are combined into one, the leisure and endowment

This leisure and endowment, no matter how it is examined in terms of cause, essence, number, analogy, etc., is extremely difficult to obtain, and if obtained, it has great significance. At this time when such a rare thing is obtained, one must practice only the supreme Dharma, which is the desire for lasting happiness. Moreover, this attainment does not last long, but changes in an instant like lightning in the sky, and like a water bubble, there is no certainty when it will disappear. If an unexpected event occurs, one may die even tonight. There is not even a hair's breadth of certainty that one will not die, so I have decided not to postpone the practice of Dharma, but to practice it from now on. At the time of death, not to mention food, wealth, enjoyment, relatives, power, etc., even one's own body must be abandoned, and one must leave like pulling a hair from the middle of butter. At this time, one can only follow the karma, and there is no way to abandon the sins that have already been committed. One cannot carry the virtues that one has not practiced oneself. The karma that has been done will not be wasted, and the karma that has not been done will not be encountered. Therefore, involuntarily, one will be reborn in the high or low places of samsara due to karma. What will happen if one is reborn in the three lower realms? There is no certainty that one will not be reborn in the lower realms. From now on, even if it costs my life, I will not commit evil deeds. I have decided to diligently practice virtue, so I must not be confused about the cause and effect of what to adopt and abandon for the benefit of future lives. Moreover, no matter where one is reborn in samsara due to karma, one cannot escape the nature of the three sufferings. The suffering of beings in the lower realms, not to mention experiencing it personally, even just remembering it, will give rise to unpleasant feelings, which is truly terrifying. If one is reborn in the happy realms with contaminated virtue, those seemingly temporary pleasures are like the good dreams one has every night when sleeping, and will eventually change and disappear. All the successes and failures, joys and sorrows in samsara alternate, and nothing is permanent. Therefore, no matter how good happiness and wealth are, they have no essence. Therefore, all actions other than the supreme Dharma are meaningless, and one cannot escape the cycle of suffering. Therefore, I have decided to practice the pure Dharma that will surely liberate one from the three realms of samsara. Thus, I urge my mind with the strong desire to be completely liberated from the three realms of samsara. Second, taking refuge:
