It is treated as if no examination has been conducted. If the phenomenal aspect is examined in its own terms, then the view that it is merely an appearance of mind cannot be refuted. Although mind itself cannot be established when examined through the lens of ultimate truth, this does not negate the appearance as mind. For even when both the eye and eye-consciousness are not established as truly existent when examined through the lens of ultimate truth, the seeing of blue and so forth in conventional terms is the function of eye-consciousness, not the sense faculty, and this is not contradicted, just as the two do not become equal in seeing an object. Second: Establishing that there is no separate substance of grasper and grasped; Explaining the validity of its establishment; Therefore, summarizing the meaning of the establishment of self-awareness. First: The experience of blue and so forth of that consciousness is considered to be the very nature of consciousness itself, and it is not the nature of anything that has become other than consciousness itself. Therefore, even though it appears as if experiencing an object directly, since the eye-consciousness individually cognizes blue directly, the blue that is to be experienced by that grasper of blue is the very nature of that consciousness. Because it is impossible for that which is to be individually cognized in the manner of clarity and awareness to be other than the essence of that consciousness. Therefore, what is to be experienced by consciousness is not a separate substance from consciousness itself, and there is no other experience for that which is to be experienced, so there is no separate substance of grasper and grasped, but rather consciousness itself merely self-illuminates in the form of an object. If it is said that although that blue has been refuted as an external object, the appearance of blue as distinct from the grasper of blue is established in the face of experience, so the existence of a separate substance of grasper and grasped cannot be refuted. If the grasper and the grasped exist as two distinct parts, then how is that which is to be experienced experienced by the experiencer? This is the same as the debate with external objects and their grasper. If consciousness experiences an object that is distinct from consciousness itself in a non-conceptual manner, then there is no connection; if it experiences it in a conceptual manner, then it is merely like an endless appearance, and it will not become an experience of an object. Therefore, in terms of ultimate truth, whatever appears, all of that is merely the self-illumination of consciousness in the form of that. Second: Self-awareness can have experience; other-awareness does not have this reason; non-duality can also have dual appearance. First: Object and self-experience

Examples of that. First, if there is no external object, how is it that we experience external objects in this way? Experiencing in this way is infallible, therefore it is consciousness that experiences, and if consciousness does not clearly experience, then it cannot be said that consciousness itself experiences. For example, the object of knowledge arises or appears in the form of blue, etc., therefore experiencing the nature of blue, etc. is also it, but if we abandon the appearance of consciousness as the form of the object, then it is impossible in any way to say that we experience the nature of the object. Therefore, the so-called nature of the object, blue, etc., is nothing other than being clearly present in the realm of consciousness. This is actually the form of consciousness itself, so in reality it is consciousness that experiences its own nature, but from the way it appears, it seems that consciousness experiences blue, etc., which are different from consciousness, just like the blue, etc. in a dream. Second, if one thinks that just as a sword cannot cut itself, it is impossible for consciousness to know itself. If we examine it correctly, even if we think that there is no agent and object because there is no knowable and knowing, it is not the case that there is no self-awareness just because of that. Because there is no difference between what is grasped and what grasps in the ultimate sense, this experience of consciousness arising as the nature of clarity and awareness is established as infallible and undeniable, so no one can say that it is not clear. Although it is undeniable that consciousness is clear and only established as awareness, just as the eye cannot see itself, consciousness knows external objects, but it is impossible for consciousness itself to know itself. It is also impossible to say that, just as the consciousness of an individual knows blue, etc., grasping blue, etc. is not hidden from one's own mind, but is established by experience and memory, which is undeniable. In particular, according to the view of experiencing without object-aspects, even if we allow the outward-looking mind to experience things, how much of the happiness and suffering, etc. that arise from that thing becomes the nature of the inner mind, is it said that one's own mind directly experiences it, or is it said that it does not experience it? If it experiences, does it experience it simultaneously, or does it experience it after it has passed? If according to the first case, do you admit or not admit that there is another experiencing consciousness for what appears clearly in the object of direct perception? If you admit it, then grasping blue
