A Brief Account of Letter Writing: A Rosary of Flowers and Jewels. A Brief Account of Letter Writing: A Rosary of Flowers and Jewels. A Brief Account of Letter Writing: A Rosary of Flowers and Jewels is presented here. Namo Guru Padma Manjushri Vajra Tikshaya. Here, I will briefly explain the format of letter writing. The format depends on the writing surface, the paper. The image of the letters to be written. The way of expressing words. The way of affixing the unmistakable seal. The folding method. The method of including supports. The method of sealing, which are among the precious elements of royal governance. First, the better the writing material, the more respectful or important it is. However, nowadays, high-quality white paper is commonly used. The upper part is considered "the place of others," and the lower part is considered "one's own place." The more important the recipient, the larger the upper part and the smaller the lower part. For official documents, the lower part should be wider. For the most respectful, if a letter one finger-width high is sufficient, then the upper part should be one finger-width high, and the signature part should be one finger-width high, about three finger-widths in total. It doesn't matter if the upper part is larger than that. Leader. Like this, or like ༄༅། །whatever is appropriate, use as many honorifics as possible, but do not exceed two-thirds of the paper. Otherwise, leave enough space below to accommodate the words "please inquire." If there are many honorifics, or like a poem, write two or three lines, and then write "please inquire" and the signature at the end. Leave about four finger-widths of space at the top of the letter, and leave one, two, or one and a half finger-widths of space at the end of the letter. Narrow spacing between lines indicates respect, and wide spacing indicates no respect. In short, the blank space at the top and the name of the signatory, the blank space at the bottom and the text itself, should all be measured according to this principle. Like "at the throne," etc. Like the heading "Respectful Inquiry," placing it below "throne" indicates extreme respect, placing it below "before" indicates medium respect, and placing it below "at" indicates general respect, and so on. Interlacing the lines of text indicates respect for lamas or leaders who have authority, etc., otherwise it is the opposite. For things like "in hand," and for those of lower status than oneself, there is no need to raise them, just write them directly. Second, the writing should be clear and the font should be neat. Large letters are used for official documents such as decrees, and in other cases, small letters with beautiful strokes should be used. Third, place

The most supreme, and below that, the middle, the great, the equal to oneself, and those lower than oneself, such as naturally bestowing, and those lower than oneself, such as conferring authority, etc., these kinds of respectful documents have seven occasions. Among the first four, the first is to initially state the greatness of the object being bestowed upon; the second is words of gesture containing respect; the third is to express well-being and praise the greatness; the fourth is to express one's own situation and to remember the kindness of superiors; the fifth is to petition regarding the current matter; the sixth is to pray for auspiciousness in the future; the seventh is to exchange the names of tokens as a symbol of the petition, there are seven in total. First, for the supreme land's own territory, there are also two aspects of prominence in both Dharma and politics. For the first aspect, for example, at the end of praising greatness: At the vicinity of the high throne supported by the jewels of the crowns of hundreds of gods. Like that. Placing the lotus feet on the high throne, and again saying that it is revered by the crowns of hundreds of gods, and at its vicinity or lowest place, etc., similar to a quadruple honorific. Below that, such as: At the vicinity where the lotus feet are offered by the crowns of hundreds of gods. Like that. Not only praising the lotus feet themselves, and at its vicinity, etc., similar to a triple honorific. Middle, such as: At the prominent place of the lotus feet. And so on. For the lowest, just using "at the lotus feet" is sufficient. By analogy, for those with prominent political status, for those who are extremely great, at the end of praising greatness: At the lowest place of the high throne adorned by the crowns of the arrogant petty kingdoms of the directions. And so on, it can be known by analogy. Second, respectfully stating requests etc. with hundreds of prostrations of reverence, as appropriate according to the object. If not much honorific is needed, then there is no need for prostrations, just respectfully stating or just making a request is sufficient. For those who are previously unknown, one can say something like: So-and-so protected one, stating with respectful prostrations. Third, the state of physical well-being and the flourishing of activities that one is in charge of, using figures of speech and other rhetorical devices, describing it as beautifully as possible, and expressing that it is very good or praising it. If it is a reply to a letter etc., then expressing that it has been received well etc.
