As is commonly known, and as just explained regarding the establishment of the basis and the agreement and disagreement of appearances, both of these have been taught from the beginning in the Sutras and great treatises. It is not a newly created establishment by the proponents of Other-Emptiness, as stated in the "Distinguishing Dharma and Dharmata," and also in the "Uttaratantra": "The characteristic of having distinctions is emptiness, being empty of adventitious defilements. The characteristic of having no distinctions is not emptiness, not empty of the unsurpassed Dharma." And in its commentary: "The Tathagatagarbha is that which has distinctions, is separable, and is empty of all obscurations of affliction. That which has no distinctions, is inseparable, the inconceivable Buddha-Dharma, surpassing the sands of the Ganges, is not empty." Furthermore, the great chariot master, the noble Nagarjuna, said: "Like a fire that purifies cloth, stained with various stains, when put into the fire, the stains are burned but the cloth does not change. Likewise, the mind of clear light, stained with desire and other stains, the fire of wisdom burns the stains, but its nature, clear light, does not change. Emptiness is the Sutra that teaches, whatever the Victorious Ones have said, all of those turn away afflictions, but that realm does not cause decay." And the Dharma King, the holder of the lineage, Manjushrikirti, said: "The aggregates analyzed are emptiness, like a water tree without essence, that emptiness is not the same as the emptiness that possesses all supreme aspects." Thus, the statement that ultimate reality is not empty in its own nature is entirely based on the later establishment of the two truths, understanding that the two truths are mutually exclusive entities that negate each other. It is absolutely not to be understood according to the establishment of the two truths of appearance and emptiness as being one essence with different aspects. In this way, the discordant appearances of the basis and appearance, the deluded appearances, although they appear in the context of delusion, are not established as such in reality, therefore they are called conventional. The other, which is established as it appears in the context of non-deluded vision, and is not harmed by valid cognition, is called ultimately existent and truly established. This does not mean that an appearance that is different from emptiness must be truly established, because from the beginning, the Dharmadhatu is the union of appearance and emptiness, the emptiness possessing all supreme aspects.

It has already been established. Because it has already been admitted that such reality is the ultimate truth. Therefore, such ultimate truth is not empty from its own side. In terms of convention, for example, something like a variegated rope is the ultimate truth, and something like a snake is the conventional truth, and this must be established. It is necessary to distinguish the difference between one that is established in name and one that is not established. It is impossible for both to be mistaken or both to be true. Therefore, the ultimate truth is not empty in its own nature, because both the object and the subject of the ultimate truth that are not deceptive exist. It is impossible for a valid cognition that is not in accordance with this to harm that which exists, and because the reasoning that establishes emptiness is put first, it becomes the meaning of establishment, and all those who examine the conventional truth are established by correct valid cognition, and no one in the world with gods can refute it according to the Dharma. Thus, since the ultimate truth is true and not deceptive from its own side, a dharma with such a nature will never be empty. If it were empty, there would have to be a valid cognition that establishes it as untrue and mistaken, but that is impossible. If it exists, then peaceful nirvana must become an unreliable place. If such is admitted, it is not spoken by those who have respect for this teaching, but by those who are demons and heretics who do not possess valid cognition. Although the ultimate reality is thus from the beginning, whatever mistaken appearance that has not been realized as such, which has a valid cognition that establishes it as untrue and mistaken, is called conventional here, which corresponds to the meaning of the name which has the meaning of obscuration. Therefore, the ultimate truth is empty. The objects and subjects that are included in the mistaken appearance called conventional are empty from their own nature, just as a rope is empty of a snake. This must be admitted very definitely. Just as, according to the views of other schools that claim to refute other-emptiness, the absence of truth is not what is to be refuted by the ultimate truth examination, but what is to be established, so too, freedom from elaboration is what is to be established by the reasoning of the ultimate examination, and not what is to be refuted. Just as without the admission of the absence of truth and freedom from elaboration, it is impossible to establish even slightly that this is one's own system, if the ultimate truth is also self-empty like the conventional, the ultimate truth does not deceive.
