The Roar of the Other-Empty Lion. The Roar of the Other-Empty Lion. The Roar of the Other-Empty Lion abides. Namo Guru Manjushriye. Victorious Lion among humans, friend of the sun, Great Compassion, the Maitreya-Asanga lineage, The fearless roar of the lion in the land of snows, To all of these, I pay homage with reverence. The secret treasury of the Victorious One, together with his infinite sons, The essence of the definitive sutras, tantras, and pith instructions, The profound insights of numerous Indian and Tibetan scholar-adepts, I will briefly explain the tenets of the profound Madhyamaka. Therefore, here, those who speak of Other-Emptiness, The definitive teachings of the Victorious One, the final, irreversible turning of the wheel, those who teach the fearless, permanent path, And the words of the Regent, the lord of the ten bhumis, the Great Vehicle Sutra, And the profound meanings spoken by the noble Asanga brothers, And the collections of praises by the Protector Nagarjuna, and other definitive sutras, And the glorious Wheel of Time, and other tantras, And the commentaries on their meaning, the three Mind Commentary sections, etc., with the same essential meaning, Those who establish the profound, definitive Great Madhyamaka doctrine, although this is a very profound and vast essential meaning, But nowadays, those who bear the burden of speaking about the doctrine, whether they know it or not, use their mouths and tongues indiscriminately, which is very wrong. To explain this briefly, If one is to definitively establish the Other-Empty doctrine, first, one must establish that all phenomena are without inherent existence, as in the treatises of the Protector Nagarjuna. If one does not understand this, one cannot establish how conventional reality is empty from its own side, and how ultimate reality is empty of other. Therefore, one must first establish the meaning of freedom from elaboration, which is to be known individually by oneself. After that, such a meaning of ultimate reality, which is free from elaboration, is realized by the non-conceptual wisdom of the subject, and both the object and the subject, which have become harmonious in abiding and appearing, are called ultimate reality. The object and subject, which are not harmonious in abiding and appearing, are called conventional reality. If one examines them with the valid cognition of terminology, there are differences between deceiving and not deceiving, being mistaken and not being mistaken. Therefore, whatever does not deceive and is not mistaken is ultimate reality, and the other is established as conventional reality. The way of establishing the two truths is on emptiness and appearance.
