Or, if one places a skeleton and blue color, etc., in front of the mind, that is not merely abiding in consciousness-only, because one has not abandoned the object of grasping or the object of focus. When does one abandon the grasping of knowledge and abide in the nature of one's own mind? How is that? Even if one takes what is indicated by consciousness, or instructions, or ordinary things such as forms and sounds, as objects of focus, but these objects of focus do not focus on external objects, do not see, do not grasp, and when one sees the meaning of being without manifest clinging, then one is abiding in consciousness-only. Because there is no object of grasping there, there is also no grasping of the knowledge that grasps it. In that way, when there is no conceptualization of the object of focus and the focusing subject, equal and transcendent wisdom arises. Abandoning the habitual tendencies of manifest clinging to the object of grasping and the grasping subject, one will also abide in the nature of one's own mind. In that way, there is no mind of grasping and being grasped, and one does not focus on the two, the object of grasping and the grasping subject. The world is not familiar with this, there is no universal arising, and this is non-conceptual, and because it transcends the world, it is that very transcendent wisdom. Although the all-ground consciousness of all seeds exists, it has also been transformed. When the nature of the afflictive obscurations and the resultant, and the habitual tendencies of the two, are transformed and become workable, then it is transformed into the nature of wisdom that is non-dual with the Dharmakaya. If one abandons what and obtains it? One abandons the unworkable afflictive obscurations of the afflictive obscurations and the obscurations of knowledge, that is, one abandons the two seeds of affliction and knowledge. That is called the Dharmadhatu because it is devoid of all outflows, because it is non-existent and is the cause of the noble Dharma. That is not the realm of speculation, because it is self-cognized by each individual and is without comparison, so it is inconceivable. Because it is the bliss of the object of focus of the pure Dharma and the nature of the Dharma without outflows, it is virtuous, constant, inexhaustible, and stable. That is the state of constant bliss, the liberation body of abandoning the afflictive obscurations that is possessed by the Hearers and so on, and what is obtained by abandoning the afflictive obscurations that is possessed by the Bodhisattvas is the nature of the Dharma of the Buddha, the Bhagavan, the Great Sage, or it is called the Dharmakaya. In short, abandoning the afflictive obscurations is the liberation body of the Hearers. The basis has been transformed.

Its nature is called the Dharmakaya of the Great Sage, because through cultivating the bhumis and paramitas, it is transformed into the perfectly accomplished state of abandoning the two obscurations. Without abandoning samsara, thereby obtaining freedom from afflictions and mastery over all dharmas, it is called the Dharmakaya of a Bodhisattva. The Thirty Verses Commentary, written by the great scholar Vasubandhu, is complete. The Indian Khenpo Jinamitra and Śīlendrabodhi, and the translator-reviser Lotsawa Pandit Yeshe De, translated, revised, and finalized it. This commentary is from the handwriting of the omniscient Mipham Chokyi Wangchuk, copied in the iron monkey year at the retreat of Shechen (Dzogchen Monastery, in Ganzi, Sichuan), and finalized after comparing it with the commentary written by the teacher Lodro Tenpa. May this Great Sage's, the supreme treatise of the Yogachara school of our own tradition, not decline until the end of existence, and may all beings enter the Great Bodhi. Mangalam! Commentary on the Thirty Verses.
