Is the realm of blue, yellow, etc., a single indivisible entity or multiple entities? If asked what this is for, the determination of multiple entities has already been explained. If it is a single entity, then there is no gradual movement to other places, because if one step is taken, it would follow that it pervades everything, since it is a single indivisible entity. It would be impossible to simultaneously have a part that is grasped on this side and a part that is not grasped on the other side, because a single entity has no two parts. It is unreasonable for horses, cattle, etc., to dwell in various distinct and separate places, because if one dwells, the others also dwell, so the dwelling places would become indistinguishable, and how could the areas occupied and not occupied by horses, cattle, etc., be one, since their respective areas are distinctly separate and there are gaps between them, so they can be apprehended directly. If it is said that because of the difference in characteristics, it is only a distinction of different entities, not multiple parts of different entities, then the tiny aquatic creatures are also similar in form to the large ones. Thus, it would become two parts, visible and invisible to the eye. Therefore, the tiny ones that are invisible to the eye would also cease to exist. Therefore, upon analyzing the various subtle particles at the edge of form, they cannot become one. If they do not become one, then form, etc., cannot become the objects of the eye, etc. But since there is direct experience, only consciousness is established. If it is said that by the power of valid cognition, the existence or non-existence can be distinguished and understood, then among all valid cognitions, direct perception is the most supreme. Therefore, if form, etc., do not exist, then how will this direct cognitive mind of mine arise? If asked, then the mind of direct experience, like the meaningless nature of dreams, etc., has already been explained. Moreover, at the time when the direct perception mind arises with the thought that these objects are direct perception, at that time, your consciousness has determined this, and the eye consciousness has also ceased at that time, so the object does not appear. Thus, how can it be accepted as direct perception? And especially in terms of a moment, how can it be accepted as direct perception, since its form, taste, etc., have already ceased. For example, like the aspects of consciousness such as eye consciousness that appear there without meaning. As has been explained, from such an experience, it is only wisdom that remembers it, and remembering is not experiencing. If it is said that just as there is no object in a dream, it is the same when awake, then without meaning, even worldly people will understand.

If it is said that because the category is not like that, therefore, like a dream, all objects are not non-existent. In seeing a dream, there is no object. As long as one has not awakened, ordinary people cannot realize it, but after awakening, one knows that there is no object. However, at the time of awakening, not understanding that there is no object like in a dream is due to the habit of mistaken conceptualization. When one obtains the antidote, the non-conceptual wisdom that transcends the world, then the pure worldly wisdom obtained from that, even at the time of awakening, comprehends that there is no object. Therefore, the worldly mind's self-righteous wisdom, distinguishing the difference between dream and waking states, cannot be used as a reliable reason to prove that external objects do not exist. If the consciousness that appears as things arises from the difference in the transformation of one's own mindstream, and not from the difference in things, then because there is no basis and no explanation, how can the consciousness of sentient beings be determined as correct or incorrect from relying on bad friends and virtuous spiritual friends, and from listening to holy and unholy teachings? For one sentient being, due to the influence of the consciousness of another sentient being, consciousnesses will definitely transform each other. From the difference in the consciousness of other streams, a difference in consciousness arises in other streams, not from things. If there are no things when one is asleep, then it is the same when one is not asleep. If one engages in virtuous and non-virtuous actions while awake, why wouldn't it be like a dream, without results? Because the mind is oppressed by the sleep of delusion, therefore the results of actions in dreams and waking states are not the same. This is not because of the presence or absence of things, but because of the cause. If all of this is just consciousness, then for anyone, there is no body or speech. When butchers and others kill, how do sheep and others die? If the death of sheep and others is not done by butchers and others, then how do butchers and others have the sin of killing? The death of other beings arises from the difference in the consciousness of other streams. For example, due to the influence of the mind consciousness of ghosts and others, the memory of other beings is lost, and they become insane, etc. Here, "etc." includes seeing omens in dreams, exorcising spirits, and the influence of the mind of those with magical powers, for example, the venerable Katyayani's son.
