What I understand seems to be an important key in calculation. If the blessing of the stars is added, it may not appear, and it seems necessary to add eight or nine hours; please examine it again in detail. Regarding solar and lunar eclipses, it seems correct to be seven days early. Being seven and a half hours early, the order of solar eclipses seems to be correct as well. Furthermore, there seem to be various methods of calculation in Tibet, but it seems difficult to find in Tibet a genuine method of calculation that conforms to the teachings of the root scriptures. However, if thirty-two hours are added to the root accomplishment of solar and stellar calculation, in general, I think it will be correct. If the division of continents and subcontinents is understood in this way, there will be no fault of contradicting scripture and reason. When describing the east-west width of the edge of the small world, if the main continent is regarded as forty-five large regions, then it is also easy to measure. If the work area is divided equally into twelve parts, then the width of all twelve continents will also become the same. Similarly, all areas such as the oceans between the continents are also divided into twelve parts in this way. Although not all places are covered by continents, if one knows how to divide and measure equally in this way, then in astrology, the way the four seasons or twelve regions revolve, the way the sun and other planets move in the constellations, and the way the calculations of fundamental purity appear, etc., it seems that many keys to clarifying the meaning of the Kalachakra Tantra and its commentaries can be obtained from this. However, since many wise and accomplished ones in the past have not fully studied it, how can I, a humble person of the degenerate age, propose new research? Therefore, I hope that it will be studied again by the scholars of calculation in the snowy land. As it is said: For difficult matters, the wisdom of someone like me cannot be without error; if it is not so, please correct it. Just as whatever does not contradict the meaning of the scriptures and commentaries and is established by reason should be accepted as such. In this way, I am only opening the door to research for others. Although a detailed study has not been completed through diagrams, during a break on the 14th day of the second month of the Iron Pig year, Mipham quickly wrote down these important points of doubt as a quick recollection.

Excellent! Furthermore, can one obtain the division of a zodiacal sign's regional time by thirty arrows and lunar months? Dividing by three hundred and sixty stellar regional hours yields four arrows and thirty taels (3040). This is the measure of how many stellar hours the sun traverses in one zodiacal day, which is the constant enjoyment of a zodiacal day. Then, giving this to the two turning points and two midpoints of the preceding location, the subsequent ones appear accordingly. Thus, three hundred and sixty zodiacal days cycle through a year. Multiplying both the upper and lower positions of that constant enjoyment by three hundred and sixty and then combining them yields one thousand six hundred and twenty stellar regional hours, completing one year. Multiplying that constant enjoyment by fifteen yields the enjoyment of fifteen zodiacal days (13 02 130). Half of that constant enjoyment is this, namely two arrows and fifteen taels, which is half the enjoyment of one zodiacal day. This and the key points of the aforementioned diagram are consistent. This was also said incidentally by Mipham, excellent! In the commentary on the tantra, the degrees of the summer and winter solstices are explicitly stated for the central meridian of the southern continent (Jambudvipa). Although the degrees of reversal for other segments are not mentioned, it is stated that when the sun reaches that degree of reversal in the central southern continent, the land is divided into twelve segments, each with twelve different seasons such as spring gardens. Therefore, through this degree, it is easy to know the solar reversals of other segments as well, so the respective degrees of reversal are not mentioned. However, it is not that each segment does not have its own solar reversal degree. However, to assume that all continents have the same day of solar reversal because the respective degrees of reversal are not mentioned is a gross exaggeration. When the sun reaches six stars and forty-five arrows, all continents may be indistinguishable. However, at that time, the sun is located at the foot of the constellation of that zodiacal sign, so each continent has its own designation of twelve months, and the times of reversals and midpoints, etc., differ according to the zodiacal day. The day when the sun reaches six stars and forty-five hours is the degree of the summer solstice solar reversal on the central meridian of the southern continent, the degree of the autumnal equinox on the central meridian of the eastern continent (Purvavideha), the degree of the vernal equinox on the central meridian of the western continent (Aparagodaniya), and the winter solstice solar reversal on the central meridian of the northern continent (Uttarakuru).
