Liberation is not true liberation. Secondly, there are two types: teaching and explanation. Firstly, liberation has two aspects: conditioned and unconditioned. Secondly, there are two distinctions: general and, specifically, the liberation of faith that can be a limb. What is the first? The individual analytical cessation of destroying afflictions is unconditioned liberation, and the faith of the non-learner that is certain about that liberation is conditioned liberation. Secondly, what is the true liberation that is said to be a limb of the non-learner? It is the conditioned liberation of faith, because all ten limbs of the non-learner are conditioned. The share of the unconditioned is not equal, and it is neither a learner nor a non-learner, so it is not a limb. The sutra says that the conditioned limb of liberation itself is twofold: the mind is liberated from desire, and wisdom is liberated from ignorance. These two are the conditioned liberation itself, which is the aggregate of liberation itself among the five aggregates of morality, etc. This is what the Vaibhashikas say. The teacher says that mere faith is not liberation, but also the uncontaminated mind and mental factors of the mind and wisdom that are liberated, such as desire and effort, because the sutra also speaks of desire and effort. Secondly, if one says that because correct knowledge is included in correct view, it will not become a ten-limbed thing, it is not so, because the knowledge of exhaustion and non-arising of enlightenment, as previously stated, is correct knowledge, but it is not correct view, because the mind of exhaustion and non-arising is not a view. Therefore, that correct knowledge is also the wisdom of liberation, the aggregate of seeing, because it is the knowledge of one's own enlightenment. Secondly, explaining liberation in detail, what mind is liberated? By what path is it liberated? How many differences are there in the state of liberation? There are three. Firstly, if the mind is liberated, then which of the three minds—past, future, or present—will be liberated? The mind of the non-learner, the future that is about to arise, will be liberated from the obscurations, because the obscurations of the past exist, and what directly harms the present is like the vajra-like samadhi, because it is simultaneous with the attainment of the obscurations, and after that,

It is because the mind that is liberated from obscurations arises. Afflictions are established upon their attainment, because they obstruct their arising. If so, how are those who have no arising nature liberated from obscurations? It is because of their similarity. Therefore, it is said in the scriptures: 'The unlearning mind will be liberated from all obscurations in the future.' Thus it is said. Secondly, if so, by what do the past, etc., abandon obscurations? Those that are about to cease, that is, those that are directed towards cessation, with the present path, can completely abandon the obscurations of the present. Such abandonment is a harm-doer through the gate of contradictory actions, because the actions of the past and future have ceased and have not arisen. If it is said that the present path cannot abandon the present obscurations, because of the fault that afflictions and wisdom are two in one continuum, and because of the fault that contradictions arise simultaneously, and because of the fault that wisdom becomes the cause of the destruction of afflictions. It is not so, because the attainment or seed of afflictions is regarded as what is to be abandoned, and it does not abide for a long time and is a harm-doer, because it arises simultaneously, and because it does not possess the ability to generate future abandonments, because it is said to be an obstacle to arising, there is no fault. Thirdly, there are two parts: the main text and the ancillary meaning. The first part has two parts: the teaching and the explanation. The first part: Also, in the sutras or treatises, it is said that the realm of abandonment, the realm of detachment from desire, and the realm of cessation, what are these three? These three are to be known as the same as what is said to be liberation and non-arising, which are called the realm of abandonment, etc. The second part: Thus, of the three realms, those who have exhausted and abandoned all desires are the realm of detachment from desire. That which is called the realm of abandonment refers to those who have exhausted and abandoned afflictions other than desire, such as hatred, etc. That which is called the realm of cessation refers to those who have completely exhausted the root of afflictions. These three are distinguished from liberation and non-arising, and the sound of the basis refers to objects and causes, that is, contaminated forms, etc. In the latter, it is abandoned by separating from the desire of longing. Secondly, in the ancillary meaning, examining the limits of the path of renunciation and detachment from desire, if so, by what thing does the thing that causes renunciation, can it be separated from desire?
