Since there is no action of seeing and hearing etc. before not listening etc., my action is constant and cannot be the cause of seeing etc. If, as in the second case, my action is impermanent and is the cause of seeing etc., then that action is not constant, because the former and the former disappear and are impermanent, so the agent I will also become impermanent, because the state of having action and not having action is different. The third case, where my action is neither constant nor impermanent, is also completely non-existent. Because constant and impermanent are contradictory, if it is not one, it will become the other, and there cannot be a third case between the two. Although there is a debate about whether I am constant or impermanent here, it seems clearer to debate whether my actions are constant or impermanent. Above, I have established no-self with reasoning that has the measure of perception and inference, and then I establish it with the measure of scripture. This is said to those in my own school who say that there is a self. Just as the Blessed One said that all dharmas are without self. From where did he say it? From the teaching of the four seals of dharma, he said that all dharmas are without self. Similarly, in the Sutra of the Hearers, called "Ultimate Emptiness", it is also said that in the ultimate sense, all dharmas are emptiness. Also, in one of the beginnings etc. of the long Agama of the Hearers, in the context of explaining the five groups starting from five, it is said that if you cling to self, five faults will occur. And it is said that if there are good and bad deeds, although there is the experience of ripening happiness and suffering, there is no person who abandons this aggregate and takes another aggregate, except for the expression of dharma that arises and enters into samsara according to the law of the twelve links of dependent origination. Therefore, clinging to the idea that I am substantially existent is a fault and contradicts the Buddha's teachings. The five faults are clinging to self and life, and if you admit that a person is substantially existent, then with regard to the meaning of self and no-self, you will cling to self and life, which is the first fault. There is no difference from the non-Buddhists, just as the non-Buddhists think that there is a self.

And to regard a person as existing substantially, this is no different, it is the second fault. It is said to have entered the wrong path. The path of nirvana and liberation is to meditate on impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. However, to regard self and person as the path of liberation is not the path of liberation, but the path of entering samsara and falling into evil destinies, which is the third fault. It is said that his mind does not enter into emptiness. Emptiness is the absence of self and what belongs to self. Those who regard a person as substantially existing are not in accordance with this form, so his mind does not enter into emptiness, because he does not listen, does not think, does not meditate, so it is said that he does not believe, does not abide, does not desire, this is the fourth fault. His noble dharmas will not become completely purified. It is said that one who regards a person as substantially existing, relying on his noble dharma of the path of seeing and the path of meditation, abandoning the afflictions, the manifestation of nirvana will not occur, this is the fifth fault. Those who assert that a person exists substantially say: The Blessed One has said in the sutras, the person who knows all, and the person who knows, and the person who has abandoned the burden, and the person who follows faith, and the person who follows the Dharma, and so on, has spoken of a great many names of persons. If a person is not substantial, why would so many persons be spoken of in this way? Thus, it is said that a person exists substantially. If they say this, the various names of persons that are spoken of are not meant to say that such a person is substantial, but rather to easily understand and distinguish or cut off the state of complete defilement and the state of complete purification, and to easily understand the difference between the initial entry into the two (defilement and purification) and their continuation, so those are indicated separately by the names or terms of persons, but it is not said that that and that person are other substantial existences. How are the names of persons established? The continuum of the five aggregates, in the period when it possesses all the afflicted dharmas, by the name of a person with all the afflictions, one can easily understand all the dharmas in that state, only that, apart from those dharmas of the continuum of aggregates possessing all the afflictions,
