Because, like the self, it is not established in meaning, it abides in selflessness and emptiness. Why is that? Because external objects arise from the four elements and causes such as seeds, and internal objects, the aggregates of sentient beings, arise from the accumulation of causes such as ignorance and karmic formations. Therefore, all phenomena, both external and internal, arise from the accumulation of their respective causes and conditions, which is evident. However, foolish beings believe that these objects are created or depend on the actions of others, such as Ishvara and the self. Because objects exist on their own, they do not see the meaning of dependent origination. Even though there is no self or Ishvara as a creator, they see them. What kind of darkness is this? The darkness known in the world obscures existing things, making them invisible, but it does not make non-existent things visible. However, the darkness of ignorance that dwells in the minds of sentient beings does not see the arising of dependent origination, which is the manifestation of the inherent nature of things, but instead sees arising from a non-existent other. This is an unprecedented and wondrous darkness. Moreover, "self" is also explained as a name for a person, such as self, sentient being, life, person, individual, and mind-born. That term is also applied to the nature of dharma, the self of dharma, which means applying that term to the essence or nature of dharma. The non-Buddhists are attached to the self of the person, thinking that this is liberation, which is a perversion. The Hearers are attached to the self of dharma, thinking that the essence of dharma is liberation, which is also a perversion because they do not understand the nature of dharma. According to the Great Vehicle, all dharmas are non-dual and equal, yet it is still necessary to explain the rationality of samsara and nirvana, and bondage and liberation. Just as these dharmas that appear as samsara and nirvana, from the perspective of ultimate truth or the way things are, the cessation of ignorance, the peaceful nirvana up to the cessation of old age and death, and the arising of samsara from ignorance as a condition, with karmic formations and so on up to the arising of old age and death, there is no difference between these two, because all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana are

My own nature is equal in that it is without arising or ceasing, therefore the very nature of samsara is nirvana. If that is so, then what is the difference between ordinary beings remaining in samsara and noble ones attaining nirvana? It is not that samsara and nirvana are different because of the real existence of self and phenomena, but rather it is because of realizing or not realizing the nature of self and phenomena as they are. Although samsara and nirvana are equal in ultimate reality, nevertheless, because of the complete familiarity with the virtues of realizing the impermanence, suffering, and selflessness of persons as they are, the cessation of birth in samsara, the peace of the hearers and self-realizers, and the virtuous actions of the six perfections embraced by non-conceptual wisdom, when these actions reach the perfection of the path, the birth of the mind-made body also ceases, and even the slightest trace of samsara is pacified, and nirvana, which does not abide in peace, is attained. Third, the order of how to realize the ultimate reality itself is explained. The bodhisattva explains with five verses such as merit and wisdom. The way in which the bodhisattvas of the Mahayana attain the result from the path of accumulation, application, seeing, and meditation with the non-conceptual wisdom that realizes the selflessness of all phenomena. The Bodhisattva offers to the Tathagata in one of countless kalpas, listens to the Dharma, contemplates and meditates, and perfectly accumulates the infinite nature of the accumulation of merit and wisdom, which is summarized by the six perfections, or makes it go beyond, and goes to the realm of the noble ones, and accumulates these accumulations well. On the meaning of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, which are explained in the scriptures such as Sutras, with proper attention, through the samadhi of tranquility, and the vipassana that is determined without doubt, it is very thoroughly understood, and the above three verses explain the path of accumulation. In order to accumulate the accumulations and to determine the thought on the Dharma in this way, all appearances of external objects such as form, sound, etc., and pillars, vases, etc., are caused by names being expressed, and it is only by relying on names that the mind's thoughts grasp it.
