Concerning the Aati's Path Gradation Essence Meaning Commentary from the Section of the Profound Path Sugata Assembly's Limb's Completion Stage Gradual Arrangement, by Lotsawa Dharmashri. Concerning the Aati's Path Gradation Essence Meaning Commentary from the Section of the Profound Path Sugata Assembly's Limb's Completion Stage Gradual Arrangement is completed. Lotsawa Dharmashri. Om Swasti. Homage to the glorious Lama who holds the meaning of the unchanging, self-arisen great wisdom, the realm without limitations or partiality, and the all-perfect Vajra Peak. Here, to clarify the profound meaning of the Great Compassionate Sugata Assembly, the heart's completion stage, the essence of the Aati's Path Gradation, in brief commentary, there are three parts: the introduction, the main body, and the conclusion. First, the homage in the introduction: Emaho! It is wonderful. What is wonderful? The supremely unchanging great bliss, the self-arisen wisdom, the one nature that transforms into anything it plays with, is the Lord of Dance, the self-aware wisdom itself. To that great teacher, I pay homage! This is the homage of meeting the view. Second, the meaning of the main body has four parts: the natural state of the ground, how delusion arises from it, the path that liberates from delusion, and the indication of the place of liberation as the result. The first is: the original general ground state of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana, the naturally pure essence of the Sugata-garbha, the essence of the Dharmadhatu, the essence of primordial purity, the spontaneously accomplished nature, the all-pervading wisdom of compassion, the nature of reality in which the three kayas are inherently present. Since all phenomena are not limited or biased in any way, the awareness that is neither anything nor nothing is inseparable, like a continuous thread. The all-pervading, impartial realm expands into the realm of the emptiness of reality. The nature of the clear and aware wisdom is the essence of unchanging from the beginning. Thus, it is also said in the Dung Yig Chen: The state of the ground continuum of things, its essence is emptiness, the mother who gives birth to all Buddhas, there are three kinds of distinctions: essence, nature, and compassion. Also, in the Thugs Thig, it is said: The ground state awareness, essence, nature, and the three compassions, in the heart of the Victorious Ones, it is said that the three kayas are inherently present.

So it is. Secondly, how confusion arises from that is: In the nature of that ground, when the appearance of space-awareness is not recognized as self-appearance, the mind grasps it as other. For example, like a cloud in the sky, confusion arises as if appearing suddenly. How does it arise? The moving wind makes "I" the master, so from the five lights arise the environment and body. From awareness arises the basis of the mind's confusion. Because the shape of the bindu and the forms of peaceful and wrathful deities are not recognized as self-appearance, from the shape arises the container, and from the form arises the essence. Thus, karmic appearances, with habitual tendencies naturally accumulating, arise together with the environment. Even at the time of such confusion, all sentient beings possess the primordial clear light essence, endowed with the three wisdoms, the lamp of awareness together with the innate lineage, abiding inseparably. Thirdly, explaining the path that liberates from confusion, there are three aspects: identifying the single path; explaining in detail how confusion is liberated by it; and advising to diligently practice it. Firstly: The means to liberate the container and essence of karmic appearances into body and wisdom. In general, the perfect Buddha taught countless levels of vehicles, high and low, according to the capacity of disciples' minds. However, all of them are doors to enter the palace of Ati Yoga, like steps there, becoming steps on this path. Therefore, the means to ultimately realize primordial wisdom and attain the result is established as a single path. Thus, the definitive and extraordinary path is the pinnacle of all vehicles, the spontaneously accomplished vehicle of Great Perfection Ati Yoga. Secondly, explaining in detail how confusion is liberated by it: The single path of all Buddhas is Ati Yoga. Therefore, to practice this, there are two aspects: preliminary practices and the main practice. The first also has two aspects: common and uncommon. The first, the common one, is to cut the rope of clinging to the reality of samsara's confused appearances, attachment to the enjoyments of this life, and attachment to the pleasures of existence, by generating renunciation through contemplating impermanence and the suffering of samsara, turning the mind towards liberation. One should tame one's mind through the stages of refuge, bodhicitta, accumulation, and purification. The second, the uncommon preliminary practices of the three doors, as stated in the "Refutation of Extremes": The preliminary practice of the body is the stone.
