A Supplement to the Great Compassionate One, the Embodiment of All Sugatas, Sadhana Manual, by Lotsawa Dharma Shri. A Supplement to the Great Compassionate One, the Embodiment of All Sugatas, Sadhana Manual, is presented here. Homage and refuge to the Lama and the Bhagavan, Glorious Padma Garwangchuk. Here, the Sadhana Manual of the Great Compassionate One, the Embodiment of All Sugatas, composed by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, is somewhat concise in its wording, making it difficult for those of lesser intelligence to understand. Therefore, like an oral transmission, this supplement is added to the Sadhana Manual itself as a collection of supplementary explanations. Firstly, the preliminary practices such as the Lama and the offering to the Three Jewels, along with the supporting forces of the rear, can be done in another room. If there is enough time for the preliminary practices of the path, such as refuge and bodhicitta, then each should be practiced until signs arise. Therefore, there is no restriction on whether to do them in the same room or another. Even so, the usual practice is to close off the external environment and practice for several days. If there is not enough time for about seven days, then combine the other preliminary practices with the available time as much as possible, and focus primarily on the Vajrasattva meditation and recitation as the basis of the session. It is said that if one enjoys elaborate rituals, then one should perform the ground purification ritual extensively, as in the empowerment ritual. This should be understood as in the 'Ornament of the Essence of the Mandala Ritual Collection.' If one cannot do that much, then instantly transform oneself into Hayagriva and perform a little recitation beforehand, offering torma to the outer lineage holders and the earth-bound spirits. With a stern command, cause the white-sided deities to perform their activities and drive away the black-sided deities. Imagine piling stones at the door, transforming them into the Four Great Kings, and dissolving them back into oneself. By performing offerings, praises, entrusting activities, and stable abiding rituals, imagine that each direction of the practice room is guarded by its own king with his retinue. Then, visualize oneself clearly as Hayagriva, and from the HRIH (Sanskrit: hrīḥ, seed syllable) (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:啥) at one's heart, radiate vajras and tiny vajra weapons with blazing fire, like particles of sunlight. The vajras are connected in a melting manner, spreading a blue vajra ground. Around it is a circular fence of upright vajras, tall and wide. Above it is a circular vajra tent, slightly sloping at the edges, forming a combination of fence and tent.

Within the boundary, there is a vajra canopy, and a vajra net hangs from the edges of the tent. The waist of the enclosure is bound with a vajra chain, and the top of the tent is adorned with a half-vajra crest. From it emanate clouds of wrathful minor deity weapons. Contemplate that all of these cannot be destroyed by the boundless burning of the fire of wisdom, and then recite the protective wheel of the action accomplishment ritual. It is said that this should only be removed during the final session of retreat completion, and it should be reminded at the beginning of each session to avoid obstacles. Having thus closed the inner retreat, it is said that a platform should be made on the west side of the practice room. Arrange it in front of the displayed blessed images and painted thangkas. It is best if the material for the platform is the skin of a male or female animal that has just been slaughtered and whose ground temperature has not yet dissipated. If this is not found, then use the skin of an animal that has been slaughtered for no more than one day, remove the hair, and make a square platform that is no smaller than one arrow-length, with a smooth and firm surface. Pile it up so that the center is slightly higher and the east and north sides are slightly inclined. Dye it red with cinnabar and other substances. It is best if you can find the seminal fluid and blood that flows out of the womb after a man and a young woman have engaged in intercourse. If this is not found, then mix the pure seminal fluids of a man and a woman, and use a special substance of nutmeg and cinnabar to increase the volume, applying it without gaps. On top of that, according to the mandala ritual, bless the lines and colors, and then draw the mandala with colored powders. Alternatively, spread out a standard-sized painted cloth mandala on top of the previous platform. In the center of that, place a red vase with auspicious signs on a mandala plate, smear it with mustard seeds, fumigate it with gugul incense, and tie the neck of the vase with five-colored or red silk. Draw or place the emblems of each family in the four directions, and draw red lotuses above the east side. Adorn it with fruit-bearing branches of a red-colored tree, filled with the five nectars, or if possible, fill it with fragrant water containing the thirty-five vase substances, filling two-thirds of the vase. On top of that, in a single skull cup container, place six substances: camphor, saffron, bezoar, sandalwood, and the seminal fluids of a pure man and woman, surrounded by a garland of red lotuses, and place a lotus in the center of the intersecting dharma sources.
