We should construct the mandala and practice. As it is said in the Guhyagarbha Tantra: "On the eighth day of the waxing moon, under the most auspicious stars." It is said, however, if the planetary conjunctions are auspicious, it is also acceptable during the waning moon. Secondly, the text states: "When the number of days is complete, or signs appear, then attain accomplishment." Therefore, the time is one year, or six months, or three months, etc. The number is two hundred and fifty thousand recitations, or one hundred and sixty thousand, or between one. The signs are that until any signs and abilities appear, one should continuously recite. Fourthly, the necessary items, according to the root text: "Externally, a skull cup with the face of Shri Devi, nine skull bowls with the faces of Keurima. Internally, nine drops of auspicious blood are applied. Secretly, nine lamps are lit in one container." As it is said, the objects for recitation and practice such as the mandala, as well as the food and drink necessary for life, medicine and doctors to avert obstacles, offering items, etc., all that is needed below should be prepared. Fifthly, the method of how to practice is divided into three: preliminaries, main practice, and subsequent activities. Firstly, the Vajra Seven Line Prayer. Also, in order to purify the yogi's karma and habitual defilements, one should diligently perform virtuous deeds. Offer tsokhor to the peaceful and wrathful deities and dakinis. By accumulating the two accumulations of cause and effect, the two obscurations are purified, and even if one does not desire it, the accomplishment of the deity will naturally come. As it is said, make offerings to the objects of refuge of the Three Jewels, recite one hundred and five thousand times, etc., attend to the Sangha, create tsatsas, ransom lives, exorcise demons, give alms, offer water torma, etc., whether oneself or entrusting others, one should strive to increase virtuous deeds as much as possible. If the place is a newly built retreat room, then it is necessary to follow the ground-breaking ritual according to the practice text, but here it is taken as an old retreat room. Clean the dwelling, and there recite the self-generation yoga until the recitation, after meditating on the condensed ritual, condense the wheel of the mandala into light, transform oneself into the main form of Shri Devi, offer torma to the white side protectors such as the field protectors and local deities, entrust activities, give obstacle-removing torma to the black side protectors, command, recite wrathful mantras, snap fingers, burn gugul incense, etc., and drive away the demons with fierce force.

After making diligent preparations, build a stone pile at the doorway and create consecrated tsha-tshas of the Four Great Kings. In front of them, arrange offering tormas and bless them. Visualize the stones as deities, invite them, dissolve them, make offerings, and pray for activities. Contemplate that the entire surroundings are sealed off by the protective fence of the Four Great Kings, which is the outer boundary. The inner boundary is: oneself as the glorious Heruka, from the heart, etc., one shloka, and "Hūṃ Vajra Cakra Tikṣṇa Karma Kīlāya Jvāla Raṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ་བཛྲ་ཙཀྲ་ཏིཀྞ་ཀརྨ་ཀཱི་ལ་ཡ་ཛྭ་ལ་རཾ།,梵文天城体:हुं वज्रचक्रतिक्ष्णकर्म कीलाय ज्वाल रं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ vajracakratikṣṇakarma kīlāya jvāla raṃ,汉语字面意思:吽,金刚,轮,利,业,橛,燃,让)", with vajras, wheels, swords, phurbas, and other various weapons, fill all directions, above and below, with a tent of weapons and a wall of fire, and contemplate that it is utterly indestructible. The secret boundary is: all that is to be cut off and the means of cutting off are merely conceptualizations; realize that the nature of mind is emptiness and clarity, the Dharmakaya, and even the name of obstacle does not exist. This is the indestructible vajra boundary, which cannot be broken by anyone. After such a boundary is established, do not encounter new things that have not been included in the visualization, and do not give or receive things. This protection wheel should not be removed except at the time of the final session to dissolve the boundary. At the beginning of each session, a reminder should be made to prevent obstacles from entering. Next is the arrangement of materials: in front of oneself, display a consecrated painted image of the samaya being. In front of it, on a platform smeared with the five amritas, draw a blessed mandala with complete doors, center, nine continents, and crescent moons, or display a thangka because it is easier to enter and has fewer drawbacks such as fading due to the long time. If that is not available, on a covered platform with nine flower arrangements, place an outer support, a skull with auspicious markings, and paint a complete image of the glorious deity with a mixture of white and red bodhicitta, or paint whatever mantras and hand implements are available. In the eight directions around it, in eight skull cups of brahmins, etc., paint images of the eight mothers or mantras and hand implements. If that is not available, in one skull cup, paint the glorious deity and in the eight directions, paint eight Ha syllables facing outwards, and place it in the center. The inner support is a glorious torma marked with nine drops of rakta, to the west of the mandala. The secret support is a single bowl with a butter lamp with nine wicks.
