Notes on the Six-Branched Yoga, Recorded in a Memorandum. Lotsawa Dharmashri. The profound nectar of the blessed and venerable Lama's speech, notes on the Six-Branched Yoga, recorded in a memorandum. Lotsawa Dharmashri. The profound nectar of the blessed and venerable Lama's speech, notes on the Six-Branched Yoga, recorded in a memorandum. Homage to the Lama and the glorious Kalachakra. Here, the swift path of the sole journey of all Buddhas of the three times, the ultimate completion stage, the order of practicing the profound path Vajra Yoga, which possesses the three kinds of faith, is divided into three parts: preliminary, main practice, and concluding practice. The preliminary practice is also divided into two types: common and uncommon. The common one is: although one has obtained the difficult-to-find leisure and endowment, one cultivates the mindfulness of impermanence, and generates faith in the way karma ripens, and cultivates the mind with intense renunciation by contemplating the unbearable suffering of samsara. There are five key points for training the mind. First, refuge: In the center of a pure and clean field, visualize on the top of a wish-fulfilling tree, on a lion throne, lotus, sun, and moon cushion, the root Lama in the form of Vajradhara, surrounded by the lineage Lamas and the assembly of Yidam deities. At the base of the tree are Dakinis and Dharma protectors. In the sky in the four directions of the Lama, there is a lion throne, lotus, sun, and moon cushion each. In the front is Shakyamuni Buddha, surrounded by the Buddhas of the ten directions. Behind is the sacred Dharma scripture. On the right are Manjushri and other great Bodhisattvas residing on the great earth. On the left are Shariputra and other Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and noble ones. In front of them, all sentient beings, fearing the suffering of samsara, seek refuge, with the hope that "Whatever you do, the Lama and the Three Jewels know," in a way that pours out the whole heart. I and all sentient beings equal to the sky, from this time until the essence of enlightenment, take refuge in the Dharma Lord, the blessed and venerable Lama and the holy assembly. Take refuge in the deities of the Yidam mandala. Take refuge in the fully enlightened, blessed Buddhas. Take refuge in the sacred Dharma. Take refuge in the noble Sangha. Take refuge in the Dakinis, Dharma protectors, and guardians, Ye.

I take refuge in those who possess the eye of wisdom! Thus, perform the sixfold refuge as appropriate. I beseech the Lama and precious Jewels to bestow their blessings upon myself and all sentient beings. Secondly, the generation of Bodhicitta: With intense compassion that arises from recognizing all beings in the six realms as kind mothers, I will swiftly establish all sentient beings, who are as vast as the sky, in the state of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete Buddhahood. For that purpose, I shall meditate on the profound path of Vajra Yoga. Thus, generate Bodhicitta by reciting these three times. Then, recite the four immeasurables, such as "May all sentient beings have happiness and the causes of happiness," and contemplate their meaning, which is similar to the general practice. Thirdly, the meditation and recitation of Vajrasattva: On a lotus and moon disc above one's crown, from the syllable Hūṃ arises a white five-pronged vajra, marked with the syllable Hūṃ. From it, light radiates, making offerings to the noble ones and purifying the obscurations of sentient beings. It gathers back and dissolves, completely transforming into the Bhagavan Vajrasattva, white in color, embracing his consort who holds a vajra and bell, seated in the vajra posture. The consort, white, holding a curved knife and skull cup, embraces him in the lotus posture. Both are adorned with ornaments of bone and jewels, at the four places (crown, throat, heart, navel) are Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Hoḥ. From the Hūṃ at the heart, light radiates, inviting the blessings and wisdom nectar of all the Buddhas, reciting "Ja Hūṃ Baṃ Hoḥ," dissolving into oneself, praying to purify the sins of oneself and all other sentient beings. With this attitude, recite: Oṃ Śrī Vajra Heruka Samaya Manupālaya. Vajra Heruka Tvenopatiṣṭha Dṛḍho Me Bhava. Vajra Heruka Mām Me Muñca. Heruko Bhava Mahā Samayasattva Āḥ Hūṃ Phaṭ. Recite the hundred-syllable mantra of Heruka as much as possible. Finally, after praying with "Lord, due to my ignorance," etc., Vajrasattva dissolves into light and merges into oneself. Fourthly, the Mandala offering: In the sky in front, visualize the field of merit as the refuge field, preceded by prostrations and taking refuge. With prostrations such as "Who with the great bliss of kindness," and reciting "Glorious and precious root Lama, the embodiment of all Buddhas of the three times, to the Lama Rinpoche I take refuge." On the offering mandala smeared with incense and cow dung, arrange nine heaps, offering the complete realms of the three worlds, the excellent offerings of gods and humans.
