The Tantra called "Without Letters." The Tantra that, like a wheel, demonstrates cutting through the wheel of delusion, called "Auspicious and Beautiful." The Tantra that, like a key, demonstrates opening the door to all collections of teachings, called "Sound Transcending." The Tantra that, like a sword, demonstrates cutting through wrong paths, called "Mirror of the Mind of Conventional Truth." The Tantra that, like a clear lamp, demonstrates the light of a lamp, called "Burning Lamp." The Tantra that, like gold adorned with turquoise, demonstrates the meaning of words like molten gold, called "Jewel Inlay." The Tantra that, with words of certain faith, illuminates the bardo, like the connection between mother and child, called "Union of Sun and Moon." The Tantra that, like showing an image in a mirror, demonstrates combining example and meaning, the Tantra like a mirror, called "Introduction Elaborated." The Tantra that, like a string of pearls, demonstrates the pith instructions in an orderly manner, the Tantra of a string of pearls. The Tantra that, like a snake's knot, demonstrates the words of the text naturally liberated, the Tantra like a snake's knot, called "Awareness Self-Liberated." The Tantra that, like a great garuda soaring in the sky without effort, is like the Tantra of the "Mirror of the Mind of Conventional Truth." The Tantra that, like a river, demonstrates the stream of empowerment and blessings, the Tantra like a river, called "Perfected Self-Arising." The Tantra that, like the unchanging word of a king, seizes the throne, called "Burning Corpse." The Tantra that, like a rich man's treasury, produces whatever is desired, called "Piled Jewels." The Tantra that, like a sharp razor, kills whatever it touches, subduing opposition, the Tantra like a razor, is the eighteen, including Black Wrathful Mother. Among them, Black Wrathful Mother is emanated from the Tantra to protect the teachings. The other sixteen are emanated from the root of Sound Transcending. As the Great Tantra of Sound Transcending says: Seventeen refines of light are taught: Self-arisen, self-liberated, self-originated, complete skill, beautiful, inlaid, pearl string, without letters, Dharmadhatu Vajrasattva, mirror of the heart or mirror of the mind, union of sun and moon, introduction elaborated, burning corpse, piled jewels, burning lamp, vast expanse six. Thus, the sixteen sequences are definitely emanated from Sound Transcending, appearing to sentient beings to be tamed. Thus it is said.

It should be understood from the Excellent Treasure. Furthermore, the sound of Guru (Tibetan: གུ༵་རུ༵, Sanskrit Devanagari: गुरु, Sanskrit Romanization: guru, literal Chinese meaning: Teacher) implies heaviness. He who constantly possesses inexhaustible qualities, is inseparable from the play of the wheel of adornment, abides in one taste, and has become the treasure of all Buddha qualities, is called Guru (Tibetan: གུ༵་རུ༵, Sanskrit Devanagari: गुरु, Sanskrit Romanization: guru, literal Chinese meaning: Teacher). Although his perfect compassion is impossible to enter into all beings, due to the differences in the capacities of individual sentient beings and the way in which activities manifest, the opportunity for manifestation is extremely rare. Therefore, he is called Rinpoche (Tibetan: རི༵ན་པོ༵་ཆེ༵་). As long as we do not understand the activities of the Guru as Buddha, and the source from which they arise, the Guru will always be far away. When the causal means of dependent origination manifest, in such a way that appearances and existence arise as the play of the Guru, through the way of truly showing the self-nature of all dharmas. When merit is recognized and kindness is remembered, and the narrow clinging, like recognizing the sky through the eye of a needle, is completely dispelled, and all appearances of samsara and nirvana become the object of remembering the qualities and kindness of the one glorious Guru, then I think that is the meaning of calling (Tibetan: འབོ༵ད་) which is very close to the fruit of supreme accomplishment. Padma Samten said that the Guru's Distant Calling should be written, as Zhi Xiang wrote. In general, the so-called Guru's Distant Calling does not necessarily have to be understood as something to be recited.
