Chapter Six: Explaining the Five Branches of Tenets Now, the sixth chapter explains the five branches of tenets, which are divided into two parts: the main text and the ancillary examination of the method of practicing birth houses. The first part is further divided into teachings and explanations. The first part is: the characteristics of the completely pure astrological tenets as spoken by the primordial Buddha of the supreme root tantra. Although this is the case, in the "Summary of Empowerment," it says, "Like this, with the six limits...". The root tantra, difficult commentary, extensive commentary, etc., mentioned therein, as well as the condensed tantra, difficult commentary, extensive commentary, etc., among these six limits, except for some sections of the root tantra, the entire tantric commentary is not visible. So, how should its meaning be explained here? This is because the Great Commentary "Stainless Light" clearly explains the meaning of the root tantra. Therefore, following it, the tenets are explained. For the time being, let's explain the certainty of the five combined. It is not necessary to newly transfer the certainty as is done here. Why? Because here, even the slightest calculation error of the tenets is absent, so no matter how many years are placed, there will be no increase in error, so there is no need for an antidote, just as one does not need to rely on medicine if one is not sick. However, if many years have passed, it will become somewhat difficult due to the large number of charts, so in order to avoid that much trouble, please explain and grasp it for those who desire to calculate. The second part is divided into four: year purification, month purification, determination of each month, and explanation of the determination of each day. The first part is: the Iron Female Bird year of Evil Intelligence in the eleventh cycle of the sixty-year cycle is the starting point for calculation, so from then until the year to be calculated, how many years have passed is the year purification. The second part is: multiply the past year to be calculated by the sun, add the past months such as the dark month, and make it the total number of zodiac months. In order to add how many lunar days, multiply the lower of the two places by five, then give one month to the calculation remainder, divide by five arrows, and add the remainder to the upper place.
