Chapter Four: Explaining the Calculation of Remainders. Now, Chapter Four explains the calculation of remainders, divided into two parts: first, determining the year at the end of which the remainders mentioned in the treatises are located; and second, explaining the calculation of remainders that appear at the end of that year. The first part is: Which year are the remainders mentioned in the treatises located? The treatises say, "Add the past, such as the Rabjung (cycle)." Because the first Rabjung to be added to the 221st year of calculation is the Fire Rabbit year, it is determined that the end of the 221st year is the exhausted Fire Tiger year. Therefore, dividing 221 by 60 leaves a remainder of 41. So, counting upwards from the Fire Tiger year, the 41st year is the Fire Dog year, thus it is also determined that the first year of the 221st year of calculation is the unexhausted Fire Dog year. By determining this, it is also determined what the black dhruva (Sanskrit: dhruva, fixed point) of the Fire Dog year is, which is the remainder of the calculation. It is the calculation remainder located at the end of the twelfth month of the Earth Chicken year (Wood Chicken year) before the Fire Dog year. The second part is divided into two parts: first, explaining the sectarian calculation remainders that appear at the end of that year; and second, explaining the practical calculation remainders established based on this. The first part is divided into four parts: first, the actual method of finding the sectarian calculation remainders; second, the method of finding the three sectarian calculation remainders close to practical use; third, teaching how to make the method close to practical use superior to the actual method; and fourth, explaining how to find the currently determined transferred calculation remainders. The first part is also divided into two parts: first, determining the calculation remainder to be found; and second, the method of finding it. The first part is: By reading the seven chapters, such as "At the end of the Wood Chicken year," etc., two lines of verse can be determined. The second part is divided into three parts: first, briefly explaining through commitment; second, explaining in detail by showing how to find it; and third, showing that the Wood Chicken year of the other twenty-two years will not appear, thereby concluding. The first part is: Calculation remainder Describing in detail how to find these calculation remainders, because of the fear of many words, it should be told in a concise language, just as promised, and the length will not be increased in the explanation. The second part is: Starting from the empty position wheel. That is, at the beginning of the Rabjung, all calculation remainders are

From my entry into a void, again relying on the calculation of the kalpa until the end of the Exhausting Fire Star, where all remainders must enter, it is necessary to know how those remainders appear at the end of this Wood Bird year (Tibetan calendar, 1945) of the calculation's beginning. Therefore, this phrase tends towards the twenty-year place below. However, the years in which the remainders appear separately should also be added to the previous years, because from the beginning of each entering a void, in order to search from the years until the Wood Bird year (Tibetan calendar, 1945) of the calculation's beginning, and after all entering a void, the same remainder also appears in that year, the key point is the same. That is, from the beginning of the appearance of a void, at the end of the Wood Bird year (Tibetan calendar, 1945) of the three hundred seventy-nine year collection of Bugri Yönten (personal name), the remainders of the intercalary month and the sun to be searched for will appear. There are no other remainders to be searched for at the end of this year collection, so there is no need to search. This phrase should also be added to the lower years where the remaining remainders exist, and except for their respective special years, the remainders to be searched for will not appear at the end of any other year, so it is determined that there is no need to search. So, in the three hundred seventy-ninth year where the remainders of the intercalary month and the sun exist, because it enters a void once every five years, and fifty-four years have passed. If it is enough to search from the fifty-four years, why must it be searched only from the three hundred seventy-nine years? Although it is true that searching for the remainders of both the intercalary month and the sun can accomplish the purpose, it is not possible to accomplish the purpose by coordinating with the lower year collections where other remainders are searched for. For example, the six thousand six hundred and nineteen years in which the intercalary month, the sun, the fractions, and the whole are all gathered together below, is eight times the seven hundred and eighty of the great cycle of the sun, and it appears at the end of the three hundred seventy-nine years in the component of the seven hundred and eighty, and it is impossible to appear at the end of the fifty-four in the component of the seven hundred and eighty. The reason for this should also be understood below. Thus, although the remainders of the intercalary month and the sun appeared at the end of the three hundred seventy-nine years, the remainders of the fractions and the whole did not appear. In order to search for it, there are five phrases such as "Transformed by space, dragon, mountain, cushion." Also, the remainders of the intercalary month, the sun, the fractions, and the whole appeared.
