A Spica of Collected Good Explanations on the General Meaning of Astrology A Spica of Collected Good Explanations on the General Meaning of Astrology The Great Translator Dharmashri. A Spica of Collected Good Explanations on the General Meaning of Astrology A Spica of Collected Good Explanations on the General Meaning of Astrology, which is called the definitive conclusion of astrology. I prostrate with respect to the Lama and the venerable Manjushri. The embodiment of all the victorious ones, Padmasambhava, The all-knowing victorious one holding a white lotus in his hand, The incomparably kind great treasure Dharma Lord, I offer to the master of the family, inseparable from the three. 1 The unchanging great bliss, the body of the perfect sun, Which always arises in the sky, free from the dust of samsara and nirvana, With a hundredfold light of wisdom, delighting the lotus of the lineage, I bow to the Wheel of Time. 2 From the lotus garden of the meaning of the glorious tantra, By spreading the good explanations of the nectar of definite meaning, The Dharma King, the lineage holder, and the scholars of China and Tibet are victorious, Who give desires to the assembly of fortunate bees. 3 The first Buddha, the secret holder, the good moon, The deity who is victorious in all directions with auspicious signs, Which rises greatly in the ocean of merit of beings, May the second Lord Manjughosha, the King of Men, be victorious. 4 The friend who makes the thousand petals of the lotus of the Buddha's teachings bloom, The son of the victorious one, the eloquent sun, the great scholar, From the wish-fulfilling sovereign of the meaning of the tantra, The one who pours down the rain of all desires of astrology, the round one. 5 Through their kindness, in the ocean of the three nights of time, The dance of the constellations of hundreds of petals, The flock of playful planets, the flight of bees, I have found the opportunity to look with the eye of discernment. 6 At that time, the body of pride, naturally accomplished, Adorned with the ornaments of great learning, the great spiritual friend, From the encouragement of speech, the fruit of the desired good explanation, The Spica of Collected Things that Bestows is born here. 7 There, all the outer, inner, and other three calculations are sealed with the great seal of Suchness. From the arrangement of astrology as spoken by the Teacher in the Kalachakra Tantra and its commentary, I will briefly explain here the reasons for the outer calculation.

Shin. Who is enjoying, how is the enjoyment, and the traces of such enjoyment, there are four. The first is, there is the reason for establishing, and the thing itself that is established based on it. The first is, according to the place, there are measurements such as yojanas; according to both place and time, there are two ways of measuring time. The first is: extremely small dust, small dust, tip of a hair, tip of wool, louse, barley, and knuckles, each increasing eightfold in order. Twenty-four knuckles are an elbow, four elbows are the length of a bow, two thousand bow lengths are a calling distance, and four calling distances are a yojana. These are used to determine the extent of the world. The second is, there are two types of time measurement and location measurement. The first is, in the Tantra, in the explanation of "minute breath dhru" (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思), it says that one part of 216,000 parts of a human breath is one minute breath. Six minute breaths are one drop of water for worms, etc. Sixty drops are one hour for worms, etc. Sixty such hours are one day and night for worms, etc., which is one human breath. 216,000 such breaths are one human day and night, because six breaths are one drop of water, sixty drops of water are one hour, and sixty hours are one day and night. Therefore, as it is said in the Root Tantra: six hundred plus, twenty-one thousand. That is, there are sixty hours in a day, and sixty drops of water in an hour, which is according to the twelve changes. This is because this statement is well-known and predominant. But it is not entirely certain, because according to the sixteen changes, there is a statement that there are fourteen hours in a day, and fifty-six and one-quarter drops of water in an hour. The second is, one thousand and six hundred and twenty, that is, adding together Krittika and Bharani, each of the twenty-seven constellations has sixty hours. Therefore, as it is said in the Tantra: one day is changed by the constellations, and likewise there are sixty hours. So, how many yojanas, etc., are there in each location measurement area?
