He clearly expounded the teachings, and it is said that his writings were compiled into eighteen large volumes. At the age of fifty-three, in order to promote the Buddhist teachings and to guide the beings of the six realms to Sukhavati, he initiated and established the Lhasa Great Prayer Festival, which was attended by nearly a million monks, and which continues to this day. When his disciples requested him to establish a monastery, he considered the matter. He consulted the accomplished one, Karma Vajra, for a prophecy, who said, "Please consult my personal deity." (The prophecy said:) "On the slopes of the empowerment mountain, in the direction of the nun's platform, countless monks will gather. What is this mountain? It is a brother of Manjushri. Of U-Tsang, Do-Kham, and the land of China, it is a sacred place of offering, a support for accumulating merit. It is the protector of all beings in Ngari and the northern regions. Monasteries and communities will flourish in the ten directions." It is said that because the name of the monastery has a meaning of auspicious interdependence, (he said to Tsongkhapa's disciple): You will go from here to Tushita before Maitreya and reside there, therefore, if the name of the monastery is also named after Tushita, then there will be an auspicious interdependence like you residing there. After saying this, after the prayer festival ended, he personally went and, according to the Vinaya and the regulations of the monastery, inspected the land of Drok Ganden Nampar Gyalwai Ling (འབྲོག་དགའ་ལྡན་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བའི་གླིང་, meaning "Tushita Victorious Isle in the Drok Region"), and laid the foundation in the Earth-Ox year (specific year to be determined). He also built mandalas of Chakrasamvara, Vajradhatu, etc., entirely of pure gold, and established offering practices. After spreading the Dharma extensively in this way, he saw that the beings to be tamed in this realm were temporarily completed, so earlier, when meeting with Omniscient Gendun Drup and Tashi Dorga, with a joyful smile, he gave them the unfinished silk robes, actually entrusting the Dharma completely to them. He gave a robe, a Pandit hat, and a cloak to Regent Dharma Rinchen, actually having him inherit the throne. At the age of sixty-two, in the Earth-Pig year (specific year to be determined), in the Sagittarius month, which is the first month of the Vinaya, the first month of winter, the tenth month of the Tibetan calendar, on the twenty-fifth day of the waning moon, an auspicious day for the gathering of dakinis, he withdrew the manifestation of his physical body and went to the pure land of Tushita. He also established a memorial festival of great lamp offerings, with the interior and exterior filled with excellent streams of butter lamps. His entire body was placed inside a silver stupa vase.
