Therefore, he was severely punished and jumped into the Ganges again and died. Among those who followed him, some took the vows of monks, and some were placed in the position of lay practitioners. At that time, three Kashmiri teachers came and, with honest minds, debated extensively on the tenets of the schools, and thus became very devoted to Buddhism. They took refuge and received precepts, listened to the tenets of the schools, became very proficient in the seven treatises on valid cognition, and then went to the northern region of Kashmir, where they propagated the system of Dignāga. Later, they went to the southern region, propagated the Buddha's teachings, and punished all opponents of the teachings through debate. They brought kings and ministers, etc., under their control through Dharma, and caused the Sangha and the foundation of Dharma to flourish infinitely. The teacher himself built about a hundred temples, and those built by encouraging others were countless. It is said that the monks and lay practitioners who were induced to enter the teachings by this teacher totaled nearly a hundred thousand, but most of them were entrusted to other Khenpos and Acharyas. Although disciples connected by Dharma were spread all over the earth, it is said that no more than five followed him completely like a shadow. It is said that in his last life, the former Sāgara Ācārya was reborn as the son of the later Bhadra Ācārya, and his intellectual power was even greater than in his previous life. He came before his own deity and directly learned knowledge. Sometimes, he entered that body and spoke of unprecedented knowledge. When Sujāla entered the school and debated, glorious Dharmakīrti was victorious. Therefore, he was introduced to Buddhism, and it is said that in the southern region, Brahmin lay practitioners abiding in celibacy made offerings to the Buddha's teachings. Thereafter, at the end of time, he built a temple in the Kalinga region, guided many people into Dharma, and then passed away. His remains were cremated in the cemetery, and a rain of flowers fell. All places were filled with fragrance and music, which lasted for seven days. All the relics congealed into a single stone ball like a plum, with no trace of bones, and even now, festival offerings are made.

It is said that this master was contemporaneous with the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo, and it seems to be true. This master composed the 'Seven Treatises,' but most panditas did not understand them. Some understood, but out of jealousy, they said it was not good. He said, 'Just as a dog with a tail tied on it wanders in all the streets, so too will my teachings spread in all directions.' At the beginning of the treatise, he added a verse: 'Most people are attached to the ordinary...' Later, he explained the 'Seven Treatises' in detail to Lhawang Lo and Shakya Lo, and commissioned Lhawang Lo to write in the style of a self-commentary. He wrote it once and presented it, but it was washed away by water. He wrote it again, but it was burned by fire, so he wrote it again, saying: 'Because most people have no merit, and because time does not stand still, therefore, for the sake of habituation, I have briefly made this difficult commentary here.' After presenting it, (the master) said, 'The points indicated by implication and undertones have not appeared, but the meanings directly expressed by the words have appeared.' Then it was set aside. He thought, 'It seems that no one can fully understand my reasoning.' So at the end of the 'Commentary on Valid Cognition,' he added a verse: 'Like rivers into the ocean, they merge and disappear into themselves.' Thus, among the Six Ornaments, Nagarjuna, Asanga, and Dignaga are the authors of the treatises, and Aryadeva, Vasubandhu, and Dharmakirti are the authors of the commentaries. They each, according to their own time, equally elucidated the Dharma, and are therefore known as the Six Ornaments. Among them, the accomplished yogis are: Master Lawapa, the middle Indrabhuti, Kukkuraja, Master Padmasambhava, and Lalitavajra, who were roughly contemporaneous. The Padmasambhava here is the middle one. Lalitavajra was a pandita of Nalanda, who relied on the 'Manifestation of Illusion Net Tantra,' and practiced with Manjushri as his yidam. After about twenty years, he saw Manjushri face to face and received the blessings of the tantra. According to the prophecy to invite the Yamantaka Tantra from the Dharma treasury of the sacred site of Oddiyana,
