The suffering of being in the abyss of hell, and the suffering of not being able to bear even a small part of it if that suffering were to befall one's own body now, and the hunger of the pretas, thirst, heat and cold, fatigue, and the terrible suffering of fear. Those who dwell among the animals eat each other, and those who are scattered are also used and exploited, and there is also terrible suffering. Even humans have high and low status, seeking desires and not finding them, encountering the unwanted, and being separated from loved ones, all of which are now plainly visible. Even the gods of the desire realm have greater mental suffering than the physical suffering of hell beings when signs of death and near-death occur. Even the gods of the form and formless realms, although they do not have manifest suffering now, will eventually fall and have to experience all the suffering of the lower realms. Therefore, this three realms of samsara has not transcended the nature of suffering. Therefore, one should think of abandoning all of samsara and attaining the state of liberation. Up to this point, according to the stages of the three types of individuals, the stages of the small and medium individuals are complete. Like Serlingpa, the four preliminary practices are also complete. Third, to eliminate the delusion of the path by being free from attachment to self-interest. Third, to eliminate the delusion of the path by being free from attachment to self-interest. Among the three, cultivating loving-kindness, compassion, and bodhicitta, the first is: It is not enough for oneself alone to be liberated from the suffering of samsara. All sentient beings in the three realms have been my parents countless times and are only kind. In particular, this root mother first conceived me in her womb. When I was born, I was like a weak worm, and she started my life. Then, remembering all the kindness of protecting me with food, clothing, etc., thinking that this mother is kind, I must place her in happiness. Then, to other relatives, enemies who have caused harm, and suffering beings such as the three lower realms, remembering the kindness of having been my mother again and again from beginningless samsara, generating loving-kindness in the mind to place them in happiness, and constantly cultivating it. The second is cultivating compassion: Remembering all the kindness of this root mother, thinking that this kind mother should be free from suffering, but now she is in the nature of suffering, how pitiful. How wonderful if she could be free from suffering! How wonderful if she could be free from suffering! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meditate on placing them in a state free from suffering. Similarly, for other beings, remember their kindness as before, and cultivate compassion, wishing them to be free from suffering. If these two, loving-kindness and compassion, are not generated in one's being, the genuine mind of enlightenment will not arise. Therefore, it is crucial to diligently cultivate this very root of all Mahayana teachings. Third, regarding the cultivation of the mind of enlightenment, there are three aspects: the aspirational mind of enlightenment, the mind of enlightenment that equalizes self and others, and the mind of enlightenment that exchanges self and others. First, the aspirational mind of enlightenment: Thus, all sentient beings, kind mothers in the three realms of samsara, should possess happiness and be free from suffering, but I do not have the power to bring this about. Moreover, neither worldly greatness, such as Brahma and Indra, nor transcendent beings, such as Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, possess this power. Who does? Only a perfectly complete Buddha possesses it. Therefore, for the benefit of all sentient beings, I must attain the state of perfect and complete Buddhahood and liberate these kind mothers from the ocean of samsara. This is indispensable as a cause for attaining Buddhahood. If this mind is present, then whatever virtuous roots are cultivated will become a cause for perfect Buddhahood. Therefore, the Mahayana scriptures extensively praise this. Second, cultivating the equality of self and others: Just as I desire happiness, all sentient beings also desire happiness. Therefore, just as I strive for my own happiness, I must also strive for the happiness of all sentient beings. Just as I do not желаю suffering, all sentient beings also do not желаю suffering. Therefore, just as I eliminate my own suffering, I must also eliminate the suffering of all sentient beings. Third, cultivating the exchange of self and others: Visualize the root guru in front of you and think, 'This mother, although kind, is in the nature of suffering, how pitiful. May all the suffering of this mother and all her non-virtuous actions ripen upon me, and may I experience them. May all my happiness and virtuous actions ripen upon this mother, and may this mother attain Buddhahood.' Similarly, meditate individually on other relatives, sentient beings seen and heard, enemies who harm me, and suffering beings in the lower realms, etc. Finally, visualize all the suffering of all sentient beings gathering upon oneself, and one's own happiness and virtue being given to all sentient beings in whatever way they желаю at the time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
