Think: May this of mine ripen for all sentient beings. May all sentient beings increase in happiness and virtue. Second, the practice: For mother sentient beings, whatever harms them is the harm of suffering and the origin of suffering. Imagine gathering all their physical illnesses, mental sufferings, afflictions, sins, and obscurations as if shaving them off with a knife, and with a whoosh of the mind, collect them together with the air coming in from the left nostril and enter into the center of your heart. Whatever supreme illness and suffering arise, likewise reside in the center of your heart. Think of not leaving out a single sentient being. Whatever benefits sentient beings, whether it be temporary favorable conditions for the Dharma or ultimately the bliss of Buddhahood, think of all the happiness and virtue that exists in your body, speech, and mind as immeasurable temporary favorable conditions and ultimately the bliss of Buddhahood. Think of not leaving any of that for yourself, but together with the air going out from the right nostril, imagine it ripening for sentient beings. Think of sentient beings increasing in temporary and ultimate bliss. May emptiness and compassion be born in the mindstream, and may all evil thoughts and malice be pacified. Turning Obstacles into the Path Sixth, in short, when you experience illness and suffering, unfavorable circumstances, undeserved accusations, slander, malicious intent from others, oppression from enemies, obstacles, lack of favorable conditions, strong afflictions arising in your mindstream, inability to direct your mind towards virtue, waning faith and respect for the lama and the Three Jewels, unwillingness to practice and engage in virtuous deeds, your mind being overwhelmed by various distractions, unhappiness, arrogance and conceit arising, vows being broken, and so on—all things that are contrary to the Dharma—recognize them as obstacles from demons and generate diligence at this very moment. Think: Now is the time to do this. Meditate on generating loving-kindness, compassion, and bodhicitta for all sentient beings, equal to the sky, to the point of shedding tears. Especially meditate on those who harm you, enemies and obstacles. Then, from the bodhisattvas abiding on the earth up to the sentient beings in the hell of uninterrupted suffering, strongly take upon yourself all the opposing and unfavorable factors that arise for you. Now, regarding the object taken, the suffering, and all the things to be taken... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Decide that the self-appearances of your own mind's delusion are real, relax and rest in the state free from arising, abiding, and ceasing of the mind. 1-260 By meditating on this repeatedly, all obstacles from demons and all sufferings will go to enhance virtue, and all obstacles will be known as the blessings of the Lama (Guru, गुरु,guru, गुरु,Teacher) and the Three Jewels (Konchok, रत्नत्रय,ratnatraya,Three Jewels), and definite knowledge will arise from the depths. If this happens, bad omens will be taken as auspicious, demons will be understood as Dharmata (Chosnyi, धर्मता,dharmatā,Dharmata), and bad circumstances will arise as friends, so that whatever appears will go to the path. Even if this happens, do not be arrogant. If you do, it is a demon. Again, all your own virtue and the virtue of body and mind should be known as before. In this way, decide that all appearances are your own mind and always be mindful of it. Meditating Steadfastly on a Specific Object Seventh, meditating steadfastly on a specific object is to meditate on harmful spirits or hated enemies, etc., that harm oneself. Whether it is a spirit that has been hostile to you from the past or a spirit that suddenly harms you, identify it by observing its form and magic that it shows in dreams, etc. Summon the enemy or spirit in front of you and meditate clearly. Also, think of all kinds of beings that harm and injure sentient beings. Also, think of all sentient beings in the six realms. 1-261 These sentient beings, mainly those who harm, are my kind mothers. May they have happiness and be free from suffering. For their sake, may I attain Buddhahood. Generate the mind of enlightenment for this purpose. Think that you are meditating on the mind of enlightenment. This is my kind mother. They have been my parents many times in many previous lives, so I owe them a lot. These kind mothers have taken such bodies because they have accumulated bad karma. Relying on such bodies, they grasp at self where there is no self, and grasp at self where there is no self. Now they only harm and injure sentient beings, so they cannot be liberated from the great suffering of samsara and the lower realms. How pitiful! Think of them as your root mother, say 'My mother' in your mouth, and meditate on strong compassion until tears flow from your eyes or the hairs on your body stand on end. Gather all the physical illnesses and sufferings of the sentient beings, mainly them, and all the mental discomfort you have, and merge them into your own discomfort, merging them into one with you, leaving them without any suffering. The happiness of your body, speech, and mind and --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
