May it become a companion in practice. 1-128 Compared to engaging in virtuous deeds for eons in other pure realms, it is better to engage in virtuous deeds for just one year in this degenerate age when the Buddha's teachings are declining, as it will perfect the accumulations. For those who can train their minds, the flourishing of the five degenerations does not cause them to become weary. If one knows how to train the mind, then the so-called 'source of happiness' refers to the body of the yogi who meditates on mind training. This is because all the happiness of this life and the next, samsara and nirvana, self and others, arises in dependence on this body. Therefore, focus all efforts on this one thing. If one can blend Dharma with the mind, imprint it on the heart, make Dharma a part of life, and experience the taste of Dharma, then without much delay, one will attain the perfection of fully accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others. The author summarizes these points as: Due to my strong aspiration, Ignoring suffering and harsh words, I requested the teachings to subdue self-grasping, Now, even if I die, I have no regrets! This is the great lord of yogis, Chengawa, expressing his joy of having conquered the enemy and made a firm decision, through demonstrating the manner of practice. 1-129 The ocean of auspicious and complete joy, the words of the Lama. By the merit of gathering with altruistic intention, May 'Mind Training' carry beings like an elephant, May it destroy the mountain of steadfast self-clinging! May the rays of your fame spread in all directions, Attracting iron like a magnet, Drawn by the sweetness, minds stirred, I come before you, Seeing your face, difficult to find, great purpose is accomplished! In the sky of the Golden Island Kagyu lineage's heart, Though 'Mind Training' shines like the sun in the sky, Nowadays, it is obscured by clouds of negative thoughts, The difference between gold and brass becomes unclear. Those fortunate ones who wish to abandon the suffering of self and others, Abandon the incomplete and inferior paths, Walk on the great path of the noble Bodhisattvas. Hoping to attain enlightenment by any other means, Is like churning all the scriptures without distinction! The essence of the Kadampa, how wondrous! May all be auspicious! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
