MARPA's Collection of Instructions MARPA8 Biography of Tailopa 1-1-53b ༄༅། །Biography of Tailopa. Showing the qualities gathered by one's own nature. The merit of subduing the Dakinis and listening to the Dharma from birth. I prostrate to the venerable and precious Lamas! Like precious beryl, fulfilling the needs and desires of beings, Possessing the nature of combining skillful means and wisdom, as clear as the sun and moon. Free from manifestation and obscuration, compassion that pervades everything like the sky, Like a mother, with love, I bow at the feet of the Lama, inseparable from bliss and emptiness. Two truths purified, five wisdoms complete, the Dharmakaya and Rupakaya two bodies, Without obscuration, naturally arising primordial wisdom. Possessing the three secrets, the three wheels (body, speech, and mind) The order of the ground of reality, where cause and effect are inseparable, is written. First of all, the stream of blessings from the precious Lamas is uninterrupted, like the experiential instructions from Vajradhara spreading from one lamp to another. To dispel the darkness of ignorance, the biographies of the kind Lamas who explain the symbolic meaning have five meanings. First, the reality of Vajradhara, and to whom the Dharma he taught was entrusted, And who the worthy disciples he accepted were, and the biography of how it was transmitted from him, and what Dharma was obtained from them, needs to be identified. Like this, relying on the wheel of five incarnate Lamas, cutting off the additions to the lineage. First, the glorious Samvara Vajradhara, from the perspective of the self-manifestation of knowable things, in the 1-1-54a realm of Dharma, free from all elaborations, the five consciousnesses of the knower abide in great bliss without separation. From the inseparability of the three bodies, in the appearance to be tamed, he manifests the Sambhogakaya, the body of immaculate wisdom, and attains Buddhahood in the great bliss of co-emergent wisdom, inseparable from samsara and nirvana. Second, the Dharma he taught is, in the Ogmin Great Bliss Palace, all the unsurpassed secret Dharmas were taught to the pure retinue of Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. This unsurpassed secret Dharma was secretly taught, gathered by Bodhisattva Vajragarbha and others, and collected in the symbols of the scriptures and the secret treasures of body, speech, and mind. The shown entrustment is, the essence of all Buddhas, glorious --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is said in the Chakrasamvara Tantra: 'I am the self-born Buddha, and the Dharma is also self-born.' 'The speaker is me, the Dharma is also me, and the questioner is also me.' 'The assembly of attendants, the listener is me, the world and the beyond are me.' 'The accomplisher of the beyond is me, my nature is co-emergent.' Thus it is said, the supreme essence of the secret mantra, the great secret of all Buddhas, condensed by the symbol of self-origination, entrusted to the Dakinis and sealed. The meaning of the essential instructions is gathered, sealed with the secret seal of entrustment. Having spoken, it was entrusted to the wisdom and worldly Dakinis. The dwelling of these Dakinis is as follows: generally, Jambudvipa has nine great continents and countless small continents. In the center of India is Magadha Vajrasana. To its east is Bangala, to the north is Kashmir, to the west is Udyana, and to the south is Kosala. In the four intermediate directions, to the northeast is Kamarupa, to the southeast is Zahor, to the southwest is Sindhu, and to the northwest is Dhikota. Such a distinguished place, the western Udyana, is surrounded by eight spontaneously arisen charnel grounds, a unique place of accomplished ones. There, the glorious Heruka is also called the self-arisen temple, and also called the Udyana Gandhola Vihara. Surrounded by the abyss of a poisonous sea, iron walls, and many fierce creatures, it has three levels of gates, three levels of mandalas, and four gates with stables. In its center resides Dharmagarja, the treasury of Dharma, where three kinds of Dakinis reside. The outer Nirmanakaya Dakini, the flesh-eating Dakini, resides as a servant, performing the task of cutting off all unsuitable vessels. The inner Sambhogakaya Dakini, the worldly activity Dakini, acts as the mistress of all tantras and diligently engages in offerings. The secret Dharmakaya, the stainless wisdom Dakini, resides in the center of the palace, in a non-abiding manner, abiding in the nature of non-dual wisdom and great bliss. All the glorious Chakrasamvara Tantras reside in the nature of the three wish-fulfilling jewels. Namely, the secret treasury of the self-arisen body, the letters are the secret treasury of speech, and the hand gestures are the secret treasury of mind. These three are placed in an indivisible triple iron box, with seven hundred-layered steps. The Blessed One, the glorious Vajrayogini herself, abides in the form of the wheel of the mandala. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
