If one does not pound and bind with the activity of a man's hand, one cannot extract butter. Therefore, it is not from one cause, nor from two causes, but all things arise from the power of the complete interdependence. Likewise, although all sentient beings are pervaded by the Dharmakaya (chos kyi sku), without the guidance of a holy lama and without cultivating the realization of the path, one will not manifest the fruit of Buddhahood. Therefore, in conventional truth, all phenomena depend on cause and effect. Great King, please understand it in that way.' After he spoke these words, merely by hearing the sound of Suchness, all the people belonging to the king's retinue, including all the people gathered in the marketplace where the five desirable qualities were assembled, were liberated from all the bonds of affliction in that very instant, realized the wisdom of Suchness, attained the siddhi of Khechara (sky-goers), and simultaneously flew into the sky, and the land of Zahor in the east became empty. Furthermore, the great lord of yoga, Telopa himself, was attended by the glorious Naropa, the great Pandit, for twelve years. After practicing twelve different austerities, he saw that the vessel was completely purified. In order to generate the realization of the supreme path, he bestowed the blessing of the great wisdom of other-entry. When he struck his face with a shoe, he first showed symbols such as the channels like rivers, the winds, and bodhicitta, and then he sang a song of wisdom in which the reeds, symbolizing the object, like the ocean, grew together: 'Alas! This is self-awareness wisdom, beyond the path of speech, not the object of mind. Telopa, I have nothing to show. Recognize yourself and try to understand!' Venerable Naropa, after serving Tailopa for twelve years, experienced the great bliss of the very basis of things, and sang a vajra song: 'Homage to the accomplished gurus! This appearing aggregate of form, from the unborn nature, if it can be enjoyed, it should be enjoyed, but since it is not, what is the desire to enjoy? This self-aware, self-luminous awareness is the Dharmakaya (chos sku) of nothingness. If it is accomplished, then it is reasonable to desire, but without accomplishment, what is the desire? This mind-essence, clear light emptiness, is free from imputation and denial. If it arises, then it is reasonable to experience, but without arising, what is there to experience? Spontaneously accomplished...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'If great bliss is attained through practice, then if there is good and evil, there will be both happiness and suffering. If, from the perspective of the result, all things have the same nature, then what is the point of practicing good and abandoning evil?' When Naropa asked this, Tilopa replied from the tree: 'Appearances are dependently originated. If you have not realized that they are unborn, then, Naropa, if you do not separate the accumulation of merit and the purification of obscurations like the two axles of a wheel, if you do not become a master who proclaims the unborn, then when white and red appearances arise, release your consciousness like a crow flying from a puddle, Naropa, enjoy desires! The nature of mind, self-aware and self-luminous, if you do not realize that appearances are sudden, then, Naropa, experience with attachment will bind yourself. The endless birth of samsara, the various concepts and dualistic grasping, with your sharp axe of wisdom, whatever appears, cut it off, Naropa! For the various desires, forms, and sounds, when attachment arises in the mind, it is like a bee stuck to honey. Release your attachment, Naropa! If you understand view, meditation, and action equally, there is no good or evil. If other understandings arise, then like having no claws, it will ultimately be ignorance. For the unborn and free from elaboration, if you realize that experience, thoughts, and awareness are false, then you can act as you please.' Sanskrit Romanization: Namo Guru, Literal Chinese Meaning: Homage to the Guru). In the southern lineage of India, in a place called Parpata Alankara, Lord Naropa, at the foot of Bird's Foot Mountain, together with Surupa and Jnyagara, requested empowerment. There, Lord Tilopa empowered them in the mandala of the illusory body of the glorious Guhyasamaja, the thirty-two deities and their palace, and through gestures summoned the yoginis Cina Matri, Nina Mordza, and Tama La, who resided in the joyful charnel ground, and through the practice of enjoying wisdom, demonstrated the body of great bliss. When the edge of a cloth is ignited by a spark, the cloth is burned away. Through this symbolic gesture, they understood the wisdom of empowerment. At that time, Lord Naropa asked: 'The generation stage and the body isolation, as well as the purification isolation, mind, and illusion, the meaning of luminosity and union, how should these be manifested? For determining the key of the five stages, how should these be manifested?' When he asked this, Lord Tilopa opened the wisdom through symbolic gestures and said: 'Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Seed Syllable)! Appearances, sounds, white and red, the collection of all things, outwardly is the self-born mandala, everything clearly appears as deities and consorts, Naropa, do not practice the generation stage! Naropa, your own body is pure from the beginning.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
