Vajra Song Collection of Teachings of Marpa MARPA3 Vajra Song Vajra Song Doha Vajra Song, a song of the view that realizes the nature of reality. Namo Guru (Homage to गुरु,梵文天城体:गुरु,梵文罗马音:guru, the Guru). In the great charnel ground, the Cool Grove, the great lord of yogis, glorious Sarahah (Sanskrit: Sarahah), was residing. Dharika made offerings with the implements he had used for twelve years as a servant of a prostitute, as a tsok khorlo (gathering wheel). As a friend, from the joyful sounds of the charnel ground, he summoned the yogini Kholmo Roza (Corpse Eater). Seeing the charnel ground adornments of glorious Sarahah, she generated great faith and sang the Vajra Song: Great hero, please listen! At the top of your topknot, the three-pointed vajra is high. What is the meaning of this, please explain? At the top of my topknot, the three-pointed vajra is high, a sign that the three kayas (bodies) have ripened. By the ripening of accumulated merit, the peak of the Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body) is attained. By the ripening of aspirations, the peak of the Nirmanakaya (emanation body) is attained. By familiarity with emptiness in the continuum, the peak of the Dharmakaya (truth body) is attained. The special feature is the three kayas and three fruits, which yogis take as an aid to realization. Great hero, please listen! Below the three-pointed vajra, the half-moon is bright and clear. What is the meaning of this, please explain? Clarity, non-thought, and bliss, the moon is naturally clear. The moon itself has no conceptualization. Even when others look at it, it is blissful. Yogis take this as a path. Great hero, please listen! Below the half-moon vajra, various vajras are vast and wide. What is the meaning of this, please explain? Various vajras are vast and wide, the four activities of pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and wrathful. Yogis take this as a path. Great hero, please listen! Various vajras are vast and wide, the five horns of the east are white and shimmering, the five horns of the south are yellow and oily, the five horns of the west are red and blazing, the five horns of the north are green and sharp, the navel of the center is black and soft. What is the meaning of this, please explain? Various vajras are vast and wide, the five white horns of the east are the nature of white pacification. With faith, wrong views are pacified. With compassion, jealousy and harshness are pacified. With loving-kindness, hatred and anger are pacified. With joy, self-interest is pacified. With equanimity, the thought of difference is pacified. These are the five white horns. The five yellow horns of the south, are the nature of yellow increase. With the power of awareness, wisdom increases, with secret --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

O head of self-arisen wisdom! Do not perform actions that harm the mind. One is the head of a solitary monastery, residing in a charnel ground monastery. Yogis should take this as their practice. Great hero, please listen! Between the six skulls, six strings of beads like buzzing bees, please explain the meaning of this. These six strings of buzzing beads are the six pāramitās (perfections): Give without attachment, maintain pure morality, cultivate patience without anger, initiate diligence without laziness, meditate on samādhi (concentration) without distraction, and generate wisdom free from conceptualization. Yogis should take this as their practice. Great hero, please listen! Light emanates from your body, a mirror is hung on the right ear, the left arm is adorned with a snake, water ripples are worn around the neck, iron fetters are bound to the body, adorned with charnel ground ornaments, and a pigskin is used as a cushion. Please, hero, explain the meaning of this. The light emanating from my body is the light of the yidam (deity), to purify inner and outer conceptualizations, therefore, do not separate from the yidam. The mirror on the right ear is that all appearances are like reflections, and one should not be attached to appearances that are like reflections. The poisonous snake on the left ear, if one can subdue it, the poisonous snake is an ornament, but if one cannot subdue it, one will be killed by the snake's poison. If one realizes it, affliction is wisdom, but if one does not realize it, affliction binds one to samsara (cyclic existence). Sentient beings who have not realized it, strive to abandon afflictions! The water ripples around the neck, desires are impermanent like water ripples, and one should not be attached to desires that are like water ripples. The iron fetters bound around the waist are the iron fetters of attachment to gain and respect, which will increase greed and hatred, and being caught in the net of samsara, one will experience suffering. Therefore, one should abandon desires. Wearing charnel ground ornaments on the body, samsara is impermanent like a charnel ground, and it is useless to strive after death, so in this very life, strive diligently day and night. If the vows are weakened, one will experience suffering in the lower realms. Using pigskin as a cushion, in the forest of the three realms of samsara, the darkness of ignorance roams like a wild pig, shoot it with the arrow of clear wisdom, I have killed the pig of ignorance, and the meat is eaten in a non-dual way, and the taste is experienced as great bliss. Having said this, Dārikapa generated realization. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
